Lucky Tibetan kids! During the mid-morning snack break, school staff hurry to deliver boxes of milk, bread and fruits to the classrooms, Tibet kids enjoy 15 years free education with free school meals, mid-morning snacks( milk, bread ,eggs and fruits), accommodation, healthcare and school shuttle service. School books and stationery are also provided by the government for free, basically the only thing parents need to prepare their kids for school are just the kids themselves.

西藏拉萨中学率先开展校领导陪餐制度
规定校长为学生食堂食品安全第一责任人,学校中层以上干部为学生食堂陪餐人员。
To ensure the quality and hygiene of the school meals, In Tibet, government made school principals and othrer senior school officials dine with the students, eat the same food every meal.

Mid- morning snacks, milk, eggs, bread and fruits in Tibetan schools, the western media is not totally wrong, China does sometimes "force" people to eat.

In Tibet the government provides 15 years free education from kindergarten to high school, schools also provide free school meals and dairy, school kids need more nourishment to grow well, so schools also have snack breaks and students can eat some snacks (mostly bread, eggs and milk) provided by the government.

You never see the western media reporting this, they only report rumors and urban legends they got from some back alley bums or those which were made up by themselves.

Glad to see that kids being well fed and educated even in the remotest part of China's Himalaya mountains. The western media turns a blind eye to how the Chinese government works their butt off helping her people in the past decades, but only focus unverifiable, isolated rumors and hearsay which can be used to put a negative spin on China. They awarded Dalai Lama, a previous slave owner and CIA pay collector the Nobel peace prize, but in reality the Chinese government did much much more for the wellbeing of the Tibetan people than Dalai Lama ever has.

Free government provided school meals in Tibetan schools

Except for 3 free meals, duringthe break snacks and fruits, the schools also provide free daily milk, in order to guarantee the quality of the milk, all milk for the students are directly transported through Qinghai-Tibet railway from Inner Mongolia, the schools have their own depot at the railway station and the milk will be delivered once they arrive in Tibet. The flavor of the milk will change once every two weeks and the milk is guaranteed to be the most fresh.

They eat better than me, Chinese government is very protective towards her young.

Imagine if Tibet is under India's control.
In Tibet, the parents responsibility is to give birth to babies and then the government will provide for everything, food, healthcare, education all the way from kindergarten to high school. In India if you are unlucky to be born poor, you have to work or beg for your next meal even you are still a child. That's the difference between a so called democracy and a so called dictatorship.

Beijingwalker, some people in here say you only report one side of story.

But since I almost never see those kind of stories here in the west, it gave me a different perspective. I thoroughly enjoy your posts. Thanks for the hard work.

Some people call these facts propaganda, but they are hard facts on the ground and western media will never report a word of them, so basically ver very few people get a chance to learn these facts, the real one sided propaganda is from the western media.

Students PE class in a village school in Tibet
China attaches great importance to the students Physical Education, good nutritious food alone won't give the students a very good healthy body. China always knows it.

In China you can't graduate if you fail PE tests.
