Visit of Deputy Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran


Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Mr. Ameer Saeed Iravani, is visiting India at the invitation of Deputy National Security Adviser Dr. Arvind Gupta from 22-24 July 2015.

The Indian and Iranian sides held delegation-level talks on 22 July 2015. India and Iran Security Council structures have a regular dialogue channel. Both sides exchanged views on regional and bilateral issues of mutual interest and agreed to continue their interaction in the future.

The Iranian delegation also met the Foreign Secretary Dr. S. Jaishankar and the National Security Adviser Shri Ajit Doval on 23 July 2015.

Looks like efforts for preparing blueprint of MOUs to be signed during Modi's scheduled visit are already in motion.

I guess ISIS too might have featured prominently during their composite dialogues.

Bilateral ties for sure . i think as @SwAggeR mentioned it could be preparation for mr. modi's visit


Impressive diplomatic move ,I would say.Even though if you are against US led side ,keeping a trump card with a neutral nation would be a game changer.
Depending anti west nation like Russia and China should be within a limit.Otherwise they will exploit the situation.We have already experienced that.Russians loved our money and royally spanked us in Vikramadityas deal.


I hope our PM will visit the Iran within few months..

Tapi Pipeline Projects

The Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum & Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply today that the TAPI pipeline is proposed to be 1814 Kms long with a capacity of 90 MMSCMD at an estimated cost of approx USD 7.6 billion (Penspen Report of 2008).

Iran-Pakistan-India pipeline is proposed to be 2135 Kms long carrying 60MMSCMD of gas at a proposed cost of more than USD 7 billion.

TAPI pipeline will supply 38 MMSCMD gas and Iran-Pakistan-India pipeline will supply 30 MMSCMD gas to India.

No agreements have been signed with the participating countries for building up cooperation in oil fields.

No agreements till date has been signed by the Government with countries including Bangladesh, Myanmar, Russia, Iran and Nepal to construct oil and gas transnational pipeline projects.
