VIEW: Jihadism and the military in Pakistan

Clarify on this, Mr. Think Tank! Islamic ideology from nowhere is dangerous for the Armed Forces or Pakistan. This article actually debunks many of your own claims that these things happened in Zia's era, when in reality, religion was always major factor for the Soldiers of higher ranks as well as lower ranks.

The motto of Pakistan Army is no different to what Quaid said in his address to a huge public meeting in Lahore on 30th October 1947..

Quoting from between in his speech : "..You are made of sterling material and are second to none. Why should you also not succeed like many others, like your own forefathers. You have only to develop the spirit of the "Mujahids". You are a nation whose history is replete with people of wonderful grit, character and heroism. Live up to your traditions and add to it another chapter of glory."

"Along with this, keep up your morale. Do not be afraid of death. Our religion teaches us to be always prepared for death. We should face it bravely to save the honor of Pakistan and Islam. There is no better salvation for a Muslim than the death of a martyr for a righteous cause."

Sir secular fascists fear that uncle sam will stop payment via paypal so they come up with such funny ideas.
They usually receive more money via paypal than what they receive from the newspaper for which they write such aricles.

. .
There is hell lot of a difference between the morale of a soldier who believes in one God and an indian soldier who worships rats, cats, monkeys, elephants and snakes.

This then, is the substance of the Pakistan army's many imaginary victories over the rat and snake worshiping "horrible"Indians.

who will decide what amounts to islah?

The important question is who will not decide - the islamist will not decide this, the government and the army itself will decide, with a little help.;)

Islamic ideology from nowhere is dangerous for the Armed Forces or Pakistan.

That's exactly right, and that's why we'll get rid of it.

Not till the day Pakistan Army considers itself the guardian of the Ideology of Pakistan which is Islamic ;)

I would suggest you to listen to COAS Independence day speech! :)

keep dreaming Sir.
Anyone who would go against objective resolution and islamic ideology as putforth by Quaid e Azam and Iqbal would be traitor and in Pakistan traitors have and will never succeed and Iqbal's Shaheens will never fail:tup:

.
My friend that is not called jihad its called "nationalism" a disease engineered by imperialists to divide Muslims from within and further deviate them from Islam.

So in other words your saying Pakistan-India partition should never have happened and that we should have remained under the rule of hindus?

You poor people, your future is Arabia or the humiliation that must come from Islah - Islamists, who refer to the Quaid e Azam as Kafir Azam and who referred to Pakistan as Napak istan, hold no value for us - sorry goebbels, it either poison or arabia for the likes of you - and good riddance

Just consider the Pakistan Army Motto - See
Motto of Pakistan Army

And while the lead article is just part one of a series - we hope that this and many others that will follow it, will serve to reverse the dangerous Islamist ideology that has infected the Pakistan Army in particular and the Pakistan armed forces in general.

I so want to jump in with both feet, but the many snipers just waiting for me mean CAUTION. :D

I think I will wait for the next time you guys come running around the block with this motto discussion. :pop:

My political views are Pan-Islamic, yet I don't call Quaid-e-Azam as Kafir-e-Azam, niether Pakistan is Na-Pakistan for me, that's the case with some confused Mullahs, congressi Mullahs I must say, JI, JUI and others.

My point is very simple, as far as I have researched, Jinnah's and Iqbal's vision of Pakistan is truly based on Islamic ideology and this is what Pakistan Army's following, at least one institution which is following Islamic values in true form, not to mention some black sheeps, they exists everywhere.

Bottom line is, Islam and Pakistan are not going to be separated ver now :) you and likes of you can try.

Like in Turkey, their Military is the guardian of their secularism, here Pakistani Military is the guardian of Islamic ideology ;)

There will be repeated opportunities for that I am sure -- If indeed there is to be a national de-radicalization program, then this issue will not escape examination, exploration.
