Countries with relatively good development of heavy chemical industry include Russia, South Korea, China, India, Brazil, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey ，South Africa and North Korea. Among them, Russia and Pakistan have not developed competitive light industry due to transport costs (rivers can greatly reduce transport costs). Iran and North Korea have been subject to economic sanctions. The powerful countries in heavy chemical industry are basically developed countries. If many developing countries want to achieve a per capita gdp of more than US $10000, they must develop heavy chemical industries.Chip manufacturing is the next step in industrial upgrading.
