(VOV) - US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker began a one-day visit to Vietnam on June 2 in a bid to accelerate Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement negotiations.

Pritzker, who is accompanied by leading retail giants including ACE, Qualcomm and Mead Johnson Nutrition, is scheduled to meet with the State President, Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade.

US business representatives will hold discussions with the President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Planning and Investment, and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Alexander Feldman, President of the US-ASEAN Business Council, said on June 1 that the visit demonstrates the US business community’s trust in economic development prospects in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam and the Philippines.

It also reaffirms US businesses’ long-term investment commitment in Vietnam and the Southeast Asian region.

according to an estimation of Professor Robert Z Lawrence from Harvard Kennedy School, after 10 years of TPP Vietnam’s economic growth could shoot to 13.6 percent and annual export growth could hit 37.3 percent.

an example: once TPP is in place, America will cut import tariffs of Vietnam’s leading export - garment and textiles - from the current level of up to 32 percent to zero.

When U.S promise something to u, u r doomed sooner or later.

TPP is a beautiful dog chain, u never get rid of U.S $ economy influence, ready to pay for American economy crisis and banks. :coffee: A GOOD SLAVER OF AMERICA.

Don't you know that China is trying to take advantage of TPP through Vietnam?

TPP is a big thing and many industries in China would like to participate, but they can't. China can grow to this state right now is because of US allies' investment and open market for Chinese exports, especially the US, EU and Japan. If you said that in front of Deng Xiaoping, he would kick you out of the room.

Vietnam is not too poor to bail out America, we just don't have the population like China to do that.

It takes a strong man to bow, and for the record, Deng was purged four times in his life, three times by Mao, a lot of people killed themselves after a few weeks but he withstood about a decade of purge and more in total. You want to know what an iron will looks like? This is it.

Deng in exchange for this friendship, got what he wanted, today China is no longer a backwater, but at the top of the mountain.

Chinese embassy was bombed, ships were detained, force was used, instead China continued to work with the US, knowing our time would come.

This is a great leader.

You seem to have this childish idea that standing up to people, getting into people's face is strength, if that were true, terrorists are the strongest people, because their actions can do no more than annoy Americans, and yet they still do it and get killed doing it.

If Vietnam bowed and worked on your country for two decades, that would be the mark of a great leader, but fortunately for us, you don't have a leader like that.
