Foton makes commercial trucks in a joint venture with Daimler AG, called Beijing Foton Daimler Automobile Co., Ltd.,

Beijing Foton Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. (50%)
Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive Co., Ltd. (50%)

Daimler AG Headquarters in German. I think Thaco do this bussines in same way as Chinese Foton does with German AG.

Poor logic is so cheap ... Before Foton and Daimler AG work together, Foton had sold domestic trucks in China market ... in BeiJing it has truck design & produce tech, with Daimler just for heavy truck launch with Daimler's truck tech, new Foton-Daimler named 'AUMAN' truck. U just get what you pay for ... enjoy cheap light-truck from China and Second-hand American truck, enough to make Vietnamese happy ! Other real good quality until to u can afford not cheap price.

Yup most of China tech are join venture or rip off stolen, they did not invent any of those machines. Anyway, that truck not made in Vietnam, it will take Vietnam another decade before it can produce its own made in Vietnam stuffs. Yeh still give them credit as that join venture between Thaco Foton made trucks, I believe Thaco role is assembled the truck. The website clearly stated anyway.

China has many domesitc truck makers, not only DongFeng ... u can google Liberation truck(解放卡车), FAW truck(一汽卡车), FOTON truck(福田卡车), JAC truck(江淮卡车), JMC truck(江铃卡车), CNHTC/ SINOTRUK truck (中国重汽), DongFeng truck (东风卡车), Shannxi Auto truck (陕汽重卡), SAIC truck (上汽卡车) etc ... we don't sell American second-hand truck in China coz Chinese making many good quality trucks with different price by China auto makers.

I don't know how u get 8-year max lifespan for China trucks ... but im sure must shorter than VPA's T-34 and Su-100 tanks in Vietnam ... if u complain shorter lifespan, yes China trucks can't running longer than that.

Why do not you send a bunch of photographers to trade shows, take a good picture of German machinery and US weaponry, come back home and mass-produce them and later on further improve them?

Japan's Toyota was a topic of mockery in the 60s and 70s well into the 80s.

Look what happens today? They have to stage a conspiracy with the help of the US Congress and auto manufacturers to stop Toyota from taken over the entire US market, slaughtering domestic three big into mince meat.

JP is US's ally, so no surprise if Toyota got some good techs transfer from US-German.

Cn is just like Russia, still have long way to make a real good car .
