That Truck look like Freightline.

Btw: used Freightliner is quite common in VN,too.

Maybe their former owners used them brutally and sell them to you after some make up.

For TPP, you need to wait for post-Obama.

Bcz VN can replace all CN machineries by US used machineries like replacing CN Dongfeng by US used truck.

Cuu long automobiles are well known in Vietnam. Over the years, the products of the factory have actively contributed to the socio-economic development as well as the young automobile assembly and manufacturing industry of Vietnam.

We visited Cuu Long Automobile Factory-Cuu Long Motor in Hung Yen, a unit of TMT Motor at a peak time of production with all the factory’s workshops operating at full capacity. According to Bui Duc Kien, Deputy Director of the factory, during the peak hours, the factory manufactures about 3,000 automobiles/month and the workers must frequently work overtime to meet the demand of customers.
With synchronous and modern facilities, a system of advanced automobile assembly and production lines and a staff of skilled and highly professional workers, Cuu Long Motor is one of the leading automobile producers in Vietnam. It is capable of assembling automobiles of famous brand names, specifically Hyundai and Nissan. At present Cuu Long Motor focuses on manufacturing trucks to meet the domestic market demand.

Talking with us, Bui Van Huu, CEO of TMT Motor, said: “When TMT Motor set up its target aimed at the rural market, every body thought that farmers could not afford a car. However, the leaders of TMT Motor, thought differently. There was a great demand for light trucks in rural areas, particularly in the mountainous areas in Vietnam. The issue was how to look for suitable automobiles to manufacture. In 2004, the first batch, including 150 automobiles, was transported to rural areas and immediately sold out to the surprise of many.” TMT Motor then became determined to build its factory in Hung Yen with a total investment capital of over 300 billion VND. It is one of the first large-scale truck manufacturing factories in Vietnam. In a short time, the factory reached a capacity of 10,000 automobiles/year and it now is able to manufacture about 30,000 automobiles/year.

Those purchases were made by the city and state governments ,not by the federal government and China just beat Japan in new railway building not only in US, but also in other countries such as Indonesia. as for what the world sees us and what China sees herself, we surely don't agree with most of countries thinking of us. we are not there yet.More of the world thinks China has already overtaken the US as the no. 1 economic power - Quartz

Thats correct, the price of Foton, Thaco Auman( CN- German tech) is ok, but what I mean here is that we can replace all CNese machineries by US used ones and we still can get back some money by selling US used machineries to another nations after using it in 10years.

So you will sell some 20-30 years old US made trucks to a third country?

Why would not they buy made in China trucks instead of US-Vietnam used trucks?

VN only allow to import 5years used truck to use in 10 years while US used truck can use up to 25 years, so third country will buy our 15 years used truck with the price about 15,000 Usd.

None of those trucks are considered made in vietnam. They are join venture and or assembled and distributed in Vietnam by Thaco. The term made in (country) is vague. A product considered made in Vietnam when it R&D design and engineer in Vietnam by vietnam company. Similar how iPhone manuafactured in China but not considered Chinese brand, though it parts marks made in China. The only made in Vietnam car to date is La Dalat.

Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive Co., Ltd. (50%)

Daimler AG Headquarters in German. I think Thaco do this bussines in same way as Chinese Foton does with German AG.

German only transfer some simple auto techs to CN, so even CN truck with a so called 'German tech' still have a very poor quality with its lifespan is just about 8 years.
