*** Vietnam Retreats from Oil Rig in South China Sea ***

Why do you always lie? Everybody knows your jungle people were fully colonized by the Japs, didn't fight back or hardly did anything. Vietnamese were waiting to be liberated. History records China was never fully occupied by Japan and Chinese were still fighting against the Japs. Tough luck for you that even International community doesn't recognize VN's role in WW2. :D

CPC and KMT was in fighting mutual, and waiting Soviet and USA liberate you from Japan.

Mao said " sitting on moutain watching tigres in fighting " China did nothing to counter Japan.

The reason Vietnam unrecognized role in WW2 was at that time VN considered as a French colony (VN+Laos+Cambodia = French Indochina)
We had to fight against both France and Japan.

August Revolution of 1945 in Vietnam
a national people’s democratic revolution that overthrew the hegemony of the imperialists in Vietnam and established a popular democratic rule. The August revolution resulted from the development of a national liberation movement in Vietnam against the French colonialists who had subjugated the country in the 1850’s through the 1880’s and against the Japanese invaders who had occupied it in 1940.

On May 19, 1941, in accordance with the resolution of the eighth plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Indochina (the GPI; from 1951, the Workers’ Party of Vietnam, WPV), a united national liberation front was created, the Vietminh (the League for the Independence of Vietnam), which rallied all the patriotic forces of the country. Through the Vietminh, the CPI conducted extensive propaganda in 1941–44 and began creating bases and armed detachments. On Dec. 22, 1944, the first detachments of the Vietnamese Liberation Army (now called the People’s Army of Vietnam) began to form in Cao Bang Province.

After the coup of Mar. 9, 1945, in which the Japanese imperialists liquidated the French administration, the Vietminh mounted a broad guerrilla war against the Japanese invaders. In April 1945 a Vietminh military-revolutionary conference was held which prepared a plan for the general uprising. On June 4 a liberated area whose center was in the village of Tan Trao in Tuyen Quang Province was formed on the territory of Northern Vietnamese provinces. The CPI held a national conference on Aug. 13–15, 1945, and adopted a resolution on the initiation of a general uprising in Vietnam, the goal of which would be complete independence and the establishment of a popular-based rule. A committee of insurrection was created to lead the uprising. On August 16 a Vietnamese national congress of the Vietminh was held in Tan Trao; it approved the decision on the commencement of a general uprising, chose the National Committee for the Liberation of Vietnam, headed by Ho Chi Minh, and charged this committee with the functions of a provisional government. In response to the summons of the CPI, the people rose up in insurrection throughout the country during August 16–26. On August 19 armed masses seized Hanoi; on August 20 the People’s Revolutionary Committee of North Vietnam was created in the capital. Everywhere the rebellious people took power into their own hands. On August 24, under the pressure of the revolutionary masses, the emperor Bao Dai was forced to renounce the throne. On Sept. 2, 1945, at a meeting of 500,000 people on Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, in the name of the provisional government, solemnly proclaimed Vietnam’s declaration of independence and the formation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV).

The August revolution came about under the hegemony of the working class allied with the peasantry, the national bourgeoisie, and other patriotic forces rallying under the leadership of the CPI in the unified national liberation front, the Vietminh. It took place amid the destruction of German fascism in Europe by the Soviet Union and the victorious war of the Soviet Union against Japan, which made it easier for the Vietnamese people to achieve victory in their struggle against the French colonialists and Japanese aggressors. The August revolution cleared the way for broad social and economic transformations in Vietnam and greatly influenced the development of the national liberation movement in Southeast Asia, first and foremost in Laos and Cambodia.

One way, I repeat ONE WAY China could do is China have to obey the rules of international laws.

After WW II, Japan given up his right over Taiwan and Panghu ...islands only. It was not Senkaku included. When China would like to break the treaty, Japan could claim back Taiwan which Man Qing has been ceded to Japan after First Sino - Japan war 1895
I repeat to you again, what international laws did we break in Diaoyu dispute? Answer or shut up. Don't waste my time, my little friend.

I want to remind you again that the Allied's San Francisco Treaty CLEARLY stated what territories Japan could maintain and had at the end of WWII and Japan accepted all conditions. Diaoyu is not part of any agreement in the treaty and is out of Japan's 4 main Islands that they can keep. Japan are free to take Taiwan but not without blood. We will not stand pat and watch. We will resolutely defend Taiwan against enemy invasion at all cost!

Can't understand, because the oil rig move, so you win? Maybe I know why you vietnamese like fcuking yourself.
Oil rig was moved just 24 miles to new location near the Paracels.
The Vietnamese governmental "fishing vessels" and navy retreated further after getting their asses whopped than the oil rig was moved.

China moves oil rig in SCS amid territorial spat with Vietnam

Amid a verbal spat with Vietnam over sinking of a Vietnamese fishing boat in the disputed South China Sea, China today said it has moved the controversial oil rig, which escalated tensions between the two Communist nations, to a new location.

China's decision to relocate the oil rig in the disputed waters came after Vietnam accused a Chinese ship of ramming and sinking one of its fishing boats.

The rig had moved to a new location, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said.

Qin said China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL) had completed the first phase of oil drilling and exploration off the controversial islands and has moved to another site for its second phase of work.

The operation, carried out by the HYSY981 drilling platform managed by COSL, started on May 2 and is expected to be completed by mid-August, he said.

It is not clear whether Beijing's move would help bring down tensions with Vietnam.

But Vietnamese state media said the Chinese rig was still within what Hanoi considered its territory.

Qin also refuted Vietnam's charge that its boat was sunk by the Chinese vessel.

"The Vietnamese fishing boat forcefully intruded into the caution area of China 981 drilling rig and rammed into the left side of the Chinese boat and capsized," he said.

The 10 crew members on board the Vietnamese boat have been rescued, he said.

"I want to stress that the direct cause of this incident is that the Vietnamese side insisted on disturbing the normal work of the Chinese side," Qin said.

"Some countries fantasise that (China) will sit idly by while its interests and sovereignty are damaged," he added.

China urged Vietnam to "immediately stop the disturbance and damaging behaviour".

Earlier the president of the Fisheries Association in Vietnam's central port city of Da Nang, Tran Van Linh, said: "I call this an act of attempted murder because the Chinese sank a Vietnamese fishing boat and then ran away."

"We vehemently protest this perverse, brutal and inhumane action by the Chinese side," the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post quoted him as saying.

The incident came after Vietnam and China clashed over Beijing's attempts to deploy an oil rig close to the disputed islands in the South China Sea on May 1.

The naval vessels of the two countries rammed into each other hundreds of times as Vietnam demanded China to move the rig out of the location.

The fracas resulted in anti-China riots in which two Chinese were killed and over 100 injured and over 460 factories, mostly set up with Chinese investments, were destroyed. China evacuated over 7,000 of its workers from Vietnam.

the oil ridges move so it is a small win by us. Maybe because CNese gov only move the oil ridges there to test the reaction. Once they know it they move on? VNese has less boats and smaller boats than CNese, our boats get rammed a lot and are circled by CNese, but we still try to be there. I think that is good enough. I will not argue who is stronger CN or VN. Because everyone know that 100+ boats can easily out-maneuver 20 something boats. Its clear that currently CN is the strongest in Asia, its a fact. But that fact doesnt justify CN actions of bullying smaller neighbors.

China did fight against the Jap, maybe not with everything they can, but they did have some battles with Japs in WW 2.

VNese lacks of ammunitions, we also did fight the Japs in guerrilla warfares. However our actions are so small in the larger theater of WW 2, and we still did not have a government recognized internationally so they did not talk much about us. In fact they just ignore us so the French can comeback as nothing ever happened.
