Excellent documentary but how is Gwader smaller than Mundra

1. Mundra max capacity is 338 Million metric tons, Gwader will be 400 MMT, so far the max cargo handled in Mundra has been 100.8MMTs.

2. Mundra max anchorage depth is 11m - 12.2m - Gwader is 17.1m - 18.2m

4. I couldn't find a reliable source on the number of berths and don't want to use wiki as a source.

Please let us know what gwadar going to export/import from port,

Cars? (Do pakistan is a big player in exporting cars to other country?)
Coal? (Do pakistan is a big player in coal production/consumption?)
etc..

Gwadar is connecting to under developed western region of china and not east where major population,city lyes.
Central asian countries are not rich like middle east either.

Look at basic infrastructure in gwadar now, it does not even have proper crane facilities compared to big container port.
Even i can dream that i am going to be richer than bill gates, but what matters is that do i have plan to become at least a millionaire(forget billions).

The construction of the port started more than a decade back,but how much volume of goods exporting/importing now.
Do any one seen the huge traffic of goods going and coming back in gwadar port in TV's or in you tube.Yes every thing depends on 'WILL BE'.

  • 3 -multipurpose berths - each 200 meters long.
  • 1 -RO-RO facility
  • 1-100 meter service berth
  • 4.7 km long approach channel dredged to 14.4 m at outer channel, 13.8 m at inner channel /turning basin and 14.5 m depth alongside berth.
  • Outer channel is-206 m and inner channel width in 155m
  • Turning Basin 595 m diameter
  • The port, currently, has the capacity to handle 50,000 DWT bulk carriers @ 12.5 meter maximum depth.

Pray tell me what is wrong in what he said ...the port is more a masterstroke by China keeping in mind their kind term export plans ... :-) and yes ..western China is less developed than Eastern China ...!!

You took the time to write a post here, instead it would have been better for you to have spent that time doing some research before posting, it will increase the quality of the thread which your post just dropped.

The thread is to inform the members about the statistics of this port once its completed. If you wern't interested in the WILL BE, then why did you even bother to come here.

As for what it will be export/import...... the answer is everything

Dude first of all fix your English a bit , " do Pakistan is a big...……" , that made my day , secondly , if you compare them , gwadar port has more advanced technological equipment and all other types of facilities ( at it will at its completion ) , think before you speak , and please do some research before lying , we all know Indians hate Gwadar , and who says China isn't rich? If they were poor then the 46 Billion dollars just flew out of nowhere right ? And what about having the largest economy in the world ? Indian are so funny

To all the Indians , please don't get jealous guy , India doesn't have a larger port then Gwadar , and this is about Gwadar port so keep the Indian ports out of this .
lolz our private ports like Mudra port has handling capacity of 350 million tons per annum as of now while Gawader will take decades reaching that much handling capacity so yeah we are not jealous. BTW JNPT, Mumbai is on expansion and by 2020, it will have handling capacity of 575 Million tons per annum.

I smell something burning , must be the Indians getting jealous, that's the thing you know , they have a " handling capacity " of that much , that doesn't mean that they're being used that much , gwadars true thing is its strategic location , it will be the hub of trade like everyone has been saying and lastly most people have limited CPEC to just this Gwadar port , look at tall the 50 + other gigantic projects too people .
