This is so true, I was shocked to see people still supporting PPP from Karachi when I visited PaK in 2018. But in term of personality, how can they support lame creatures like Sharifs an Zardari against IK?
It's local personalities. Like my family vote for PPP because the local PPP candidate is of the Jatt caste and a muhajir.
In our village areas, they still discriminate on the basis of caste and on the basis of whether you migrated at partition or not. Even today the mentality remains.
If the same guy stood for PTI they'd all vote PTI.
In recent general elections his vehicle was shot at by the PTI people and his guards shot and killed one of the PTI supporters. Who started it, Allah knows only, both parties claim to be victims. Anyway, after that people from our villages for a few months could not safely travel through the villages which were PTI affiliated out of fear of violent retribution. This is all inspite of the fact these villages are 15 minutes away by car, 5 if the roads weren't utter shit. People are school/college friends, attend each others weddings and funerals, but when it comes to politics, they all get very tribal.
In that situation and atmosphere, people have to stick to their "own".
Amazed to see how pdm got those wins. ppl still living in la la land of sharifs and buttos. scary
so you're azad Kashmiri too?
I completely agree, the different caste systems of Raja, Jatt, Chaudhry etc is all backwards and very damaging to a society
But these guys were not Sindis or Punjabis, they were originally from Baltistan.Because of ethnicity.

People vote for biradari and personality not party. Its a very backward political culture.

What difference does it makes when our neutrals will rule anyway against the wishers of voters.
A sad reality.
Understandable, but that's voters. You'd still expect the candidates themselves to seek the stronger party and vice versa.People vote for biradari and personality not party. Its a very backward political culture.
depends on if you believe IK is the same as NS and Zardari as well. What i found was the PTI guys are same as the PPP guys, rigging elections, forcing people to vote for them, blackmailing, threatening etc. All the same tactics used by the ppp guys. So why should we vote PTI instead of PPP? Theyre both the same.

It depends on the MP doing his/her job on the ground.
Might be an MP whose doing good work in his constituency and representing PPP.
