There is an article on Wikipedia which when visited redirects you too some obscure website. I have tried several other Wikipedia articles with no harmful side effects.

I knew people defaced Wikipedia entries but to redirect is something knew to me. The article in question is about Alexander Fleming. There maybe more compromised articles but this the one I found out about.

I advise everyone to proceed with caution

Did you click the page once it has loaded? (if your cursor changes .... proceed at your own risk)

Here is the text on top..

Alexander Fleming
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For other uses, see Alexander Fleming (disambiguation).

Sir Alexander Fleming FRSE FRS FRCS(Eng) (6 August 1881 – 11 March 1955) was a Scottish biologist and pharmacologist. He wrote many articles on bacteriology, immunology, and chemotherapy. His best-known discoveries are the discovery of the enzyme lysozyme in 1923 and the antibiotic substance penicillin from the mould Penicillium notatum in 1928, for which he shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1945 with Howard Florey and Ernst Boris Chain.[1]

I can view the page but my cursor turns in to a hand icon once I move it over the article and clicking it redirects the page. So far this is happening to this page only

The address seems to be embedded in the html code of wikipedia page as you can inspect it in google Chrome.

As long as you have a good anti-virus, it is not really that dangerous. This is just a page hack to redirect you to a political page, and is not really dangerous.

Maybe it is because Wikipedia has pi*ssed these guys some how by not allowing them to include material and now they have hacked it. Happens all the time. Kids with lots of time on their hand.

I have scanned my computer several times.

Actually I was going thru the thread .... Facts about Bulgaria where the OP claimed penicillin was discovered by a Bulgarian. That prompted me to to Google A Fleming
