Uzair Baloch was given Iranian passport and free residence in Chahbahar, which undoubtedly had emerged as new operational head quarter of RAW replacing Zahidan, which was exposed earlier.

Good thing about Uzair Baloch's arrest was that he co-operated with authorities and confessed that he was working for RAW indirectly via Iranian Intelligence.

Any loyal Pakistani would demand befitting action against Iran, who runs a network of loyalists in Pakistan.

“Uzair Baloch was involved in espionage activities by providing secret information regarding army installations and officials to foreign agents [Iranian intelligence officers] which is a violation of the Official Secret Act 1923,” said the JIT in its report

The report quoted the Lyari gangster as telling the JIT that he fled to Iran after the Rangers launched an operation in Karachi in September 2013.

“He was living with his friend, Malik Baloch, in Chabahar, where he met Haji Nasir who held dual nationality,” it said, adding that Haji Nasir offered Baloch to shift him to Tehran permanently where he would be provided a residence with no cost as he [Nasir] had “good relations with Iranian intelligence officers and he can arrange his meeting with them”.

As Uzair Baloch gave his consent to the offer, the JIT report said, his meeting was arranged with an Iranian intelligence official who tasked him to “provide certain information about [Pakistani] armed forces officials besides general security environment of the city [Karachi]”.


Uzair Baloch told the JIT that of his 14 lieutenants six at that time were still living in Chabahar.

... As news of Uzair’s arrest was communicated to the Pakistani authorities by Interpol, a four-member team comprising DSP Zahid Hussain, SP Usman Bajwa, SP Naveed Khawaja and a Rangers official was sent to Abu Dhabi to take him into custody....

SP Usman Bajwa of the Counter-Terrorism Department managed to get himself stopped at the Dubai airport for just over two hours as he had felt it prudent to take along a revolver and handcuffs on the journey. He was released shortly after, but things just kept going sour for the team from then on....
.... Uzair is reported to have told the court that he is an Iranian national and would not want to be deported to Pakistan. His lawyer, one of the top criminal lawyers of the UAE, has appealed to the court that Uzair would be killed if given in the custody of the Pakistani authorities...
