They dont border us so, they aren't a direct threat to us. Thats why I got no opinion about them yet.

Bangladesh must sign it, however also keeping own interests in mind. Overall, it is always going to be fruitful having US at your side.

Just negotiate well & rest will be fine.

There is lots of perks you can get out of this & USA isn't asking for much tbh. They can certainly take it anyway without offering anything in return.

There will be some doors that will open for you immediately.
1. Increased assistance in Small arms, Artillery, Ammo logistics etc. Low key items but enough to make a difference.

2. Get VLS, Sensors, Avionics, Missiles for frigate that would have been rejected before signing this deal. See Indigenous Frigate program isn't as complicated anymore?

3. USA is now open to sell high tech item like fighter aircraft, attack heli, A2A missiles etc to BD. Go to Turks & buy Atak with USA engine. Buy European fighters lobby the Pentagon for sale of A2A missiles.

The key is diplomacy & negotiations. You have to do diplomacy like a tooth & nails war & negotiate like a ghoti "dada babu" in a fish market.

Negotiate well so you don't end up selling your soul.


BTW USA might give Bangladesh FMS status in near future. Interesting.

Bangladesh really doesn’t have much choice.

Like I said it’s both a blessing and a curse.

But the other powers are clearly with Myanmar.

Also to be honest Bangladeshi society is actually very conducive to a western orientation.

It makes sense for BD to be US oriented.
