USA To Buy 8 F-35A Lightning II made for Turkey

Greece and Cyprus had Russian S-300 Systems for decades now, yet you have no problem offering them the F-35. The S-400 purchase is just an convenient excuse, if you dont want to sell us F-35 thats fine but dont think get to have some form of moral highground when its foundations are rubbish. Lets not mention that the F-35 will be flying around our S-400 wether Turkey has them or not, so once again its all BS.

S-300 is an obsolete system. Can Greece get S-400 today? No.

But Turkey was able to buy S-400 by enacting this drama in partnership with the US.

. .
I don't think the US lost any credibility. The US did not remove Turkey for no reason ... it repeatedly warned them if the S-400 system was purchased, then the F-35 cooperation could no longer continue. And I don't blame them. Would you want your most advanced fighter's intel to be transferred to Almaz Antey?
That would be fine excuse if S400 stationed in Syria hadn’t been covering israeli airspace since 2015... but it does and israeli F35 are flying near and I don’t hear concern for “tech stealing“

.
Interesting how Turkey has remained as a key piece in global politics for the last 70 years. With America’s missile defense system there during the Cold War and now with Russia making its move, I wonder how many more times it will flip in my lifetime.

Also wondering which way they go for their F35 replacements. The Mig 35? Su-35s?

.
The US cannot let the F-35s information be gleamed by something like the S-400 ...

Israeli F-35s are flying near of Russian S400s in Syria ..... so what ?

.... F-35 is not technical issue but political issue .....

Turkiye blocked American-Israeli plan in Syria
also the US backed FETO terror organization failed to make military coup to destroy president Erdogan
also Israel blocked transfer of F-35s to Turkiye because of 100 F-35A + 200 F-16 will make the Turkish Airforce as the strongest in the region

btw The US Senate blocked sale of UCAVs to Turkiye
but Turkiye has developed its own UCAVs .. now Turkiye is one of top 4 countries with the US,Israel and China in UCAV technology

and the US blocked transfer of F-35s to Turkiye
sooner or later Turkiye will develop the TFX to become one of a few countries in the world that develop 5th gen Fighter Jet

now Turkish KURECIK Radar Base hosts American AN/TPY 2 Early warning Radar which is the most important part of NATO's Integrated Air and Missile Defence System against Russian-Iranian Ballistic Missiles

and without Turkiye , NATO is nothing in the Black Sea , in the Eastern Mediterranean and in the Middle East

maybe Turkiye doesnt care so much about F-35 which is American control flying computer Fighter Jet
without American permission , Turkish F-35s can not even take off in a war

Turkiye planed to buy 100 F-35A for $10 billion ....
and $35 billion operating cost for the lifespan of 100 F-35s .... total of $45 billion ( waste money )

Also wondering which way they go for their F35 replacements. The Mig 35? Su-35s?

Turkiye focused on developing of national Fighter Jet the TFX

Turkey is working with the US in the background.

Turkey procured S-400 on the advise of the US.

US wanted to test the effectiveness of S-400 as China has them.

Turkey is sharing S-400 data with the US.

Turkey just confirmed the S-400 data with regards to F-16s. This is useful for to assess Chinese S-400 vs Taiwan's F-16s.

Taiwan is now upgrading their Airforce based on this data and findings.

Sorry buddy but... :cuckoo:

The important part here is: one way or another, Turkey can track the essential data of the F35, simply because our 'enemies' buy it and fly within the radar range. In the end, this decision is purely political and all of our 'allies' always had the intention of limiting the Turkish strike capability and power. Both the decisions to no longer sell German tanks, as well as air defense, drones, and fighter jets, were politically motivated, of geostrategic nature and the mentioned reasons were always excuses

When Israeli F-35 operate over Syrian airspace, they do so with precautions and most likely subject regional defenses to jamming/spoofing attacks along the flight path.

S-400 system will produce a significant footprint in the sensors of F-35, and pilot will do something about it.

Having intimate access to both systems is a different matter altogether however.

See above.

One cannot glean sensitive information about F-35 from a distance just like that.

S-400 system cannot even notice one unless it is operating really close (<30 KM). It can be subjected to jamming/spoofing attacks on top.

I understand that the contract for the F-35 did not exactly stipulate the non-purchasing of the S-400. However then again at the time of the contract Turkey wasn't in the process of acquiring the S-400 (or even the HQ-9 back in 2013). Times change. The US cannot let the F-35s information be gleamed by something like the S-400 ...

If this was the case, then why did Turkey get kicked out of the F35 program?

Not really a political move at all. The termination of Turkey's involvement in the F-35 program was a completely bipartisan agreement between Democrats and Republicans. They know the security risks involved ... do you think they would not want to export the F-35 either?

Pure hocus pocus bull manure. US long sought to remove Turkey from F-35 project since their failed coup attempt with Feto scum.

Turkey should activate the S400 in Adana.

Copy Cat... :p::raise:

Conspiracy Mode On:

You can't fathom half of it!! It is actually the US who is encouraging and funding India to procure the S-400 system, so that we can jointly study it for the obvious purpose. Russia would never hesitate to supply the system to India. Same request was put forwarded to Turkey as well, but was refuted, hence the cancellation of the F-35 deal. Once India receives the system and study begins, US will supply the F-35s meant for Turkey and combined Patriot+Thaad system as well to India.. Not to mention the F-21s and F-15EXes...

Conspiracy Mode Off.

Turkey should start considering leaving NATO
that will teach US a lesson , when Russia will open a base in Turkey

You think Turkey can or would? At least Russian air defence is a threat for Turkish F-35, too. If not on Russian soil, than abroad, where the systems are deployed.
