US withdraws negotiators from Pakistan, no supply deal

Vcheng mate, I don't think any apology is coming!
I am sure an apology can be forthcoming, albeit not from the White House, if a plan to implement a suitable ground operation that obviates the need for drone strikes can be agreed upon.

Absolute insistence on stated positions from either side are going to be counter-productive I fear, with asymmetric results.

USA has already offered to rebuild the highways from the coast all the way up North.

.
Both countries need to fix the issues currently plaguing this important relationship. There are no winners if this impasse continues.

The sheer arrogance and stubbornness shown by the Americans is quite remarkable. VC - Do you believe Pakistan's demands are excessive? They have had innocent soldiers slaughtered by the Americans and request a formal apology - Is that too much to ask? America have systematically abused their power and got their way with Pakistan in the past - on this occasion they are not hence behaving like a spoilt child. It is no coincidence that there is an increase in drone attacks and that Pakistan on the international stage are made to look daft. VC i know you feel you have a sense of loyalty to these guys as you perhaps live their but just stand back and see the events with neutral vision. Its time for America to respect and in return be respected....

.
first thing is Pakistan loudly inform them in front of whole world KEEP YOU AID IN YOUR A$$ WE DON'T NEED IT .

Imran Bhai...I think we already did it.....US is sure that Pakistan will come to him in june before next fiscal year budgetry planning but Pakistan stays the course and didn't bend:azn:

Key things remain in limbo - we can't make deals with an enemy and the US is behaving like an enemy.

The way forward is simple and clear to normalize relations between US and Pak. We can only give something to the US after it abandons its totalitarian way. No one has really insisted that it be Obama who comes and apologizes although he should to curry the appreciation of Pakistanis and make us softer in our decision to resume Nato supplies.

The hurdles are all at the US end and it seems the US does not want the Nato supplies to resume as it has to pay off vendors of Northern Routes some kickbacks.

1. Drone Strikes must end
2. End of policy of going to India and Afghanistan to mouth off against Pakistan
3. Apology for a heinous crime committed by US forces
4. Parliamentary approval for resumption of Nato supplies

If the above steps are not followed and somehow US secures resumption of supply channels it will only end up being closed right before the pullout when the new government comes in. Something without parliamentary approval can face legal challenges and be shut down in Pakistan. There is only one thing the Supreme Court of Pakistan cannot challenge - A Parliamentary resolution.

Pakistan (General Kiyani) has rejected all the military aid.
But the civil government would never do that.

And what an irony, that USAID is now advertising on Pakistan TV channels. They have faced enough resistance, even more than they would expect in their wildest dreams.

.
.........
If both countries keep acting like babies nothing good gonna happen in this region......

I think that both sides will learn to adapt to work towards common goals, still.

Vcheng mate, I don't think any apology is coming!

While a presidential apology is not likely, a suitably worded statement from a military source may not be out of the question in the right set of responses from the other side.

USA and ISAF have already expressed regrets over the Salala tragedy. To insist on anything further is likely to be counter-productive, unless Pakistan is willing to offer something substantial in return as well.

Even you admit that internationally Pakistan is coming across as daft. It seems to me that US policies are more effective than Pakistan's in serving respective national interests.

They always were, are, and will be spoilt-brats! Unless someone of equal power threatens to take their lolly-pop, or gives them a spanking to remember by. But I don't think that we are the ones in a position to do just that!

Isn't it better to wait... wait.... prepare and one day when they're in a fight with a dog their own size, go join the other dog?

Its time for America to respect and in return be respected!
Who did they ever respect in their history? Just find one nation that US has actually respected?

US is like a force of nature, brainless! Washes/blows/buries anything and everything that stands in it's way.

Of course! Let the Americans apologize first at ANY level. Only then we could discuss the ground operations and drone strikes. Also Mr. Panetta will have to be leashed again!

I know Kyani and Pakistani Army dont let it happen according to some source there is something fishy in these containers and America will finding chance for the last chance for Pakistan

how u suppose they will stop it after the grand success (killing of AQ no. 2) ?

Panetta's recent outburst has not been really helpful either, indicating that the US has made up it's mind not to play nice, and so has the COAS. This whole issue is now more due to the COAS than the government, that is why you see bongi statements by Gilani every other day.

Little acknowledged that securing a deal with Pakistan remained a priority and said the team of negotiators could return at any moment. In the meantime, military officials attached to the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad would be able to discuss the matter with Pakistani officials.

"We will continue to work through the (ground supply route) matter with Pakistan. And the members of the team that are leaving, or have, left are prepared to return to Islamabad at any moment to continue discussions in person," Little said. :D

IF NDN Route is soo good why are these guys begging for GLOC PK?Just shut up (and say no to Pakistan so you won't have to negotiate with Pakistanis) and use NDN.I think our leadership knew that US was overplaying the importance of NDN and bluffing.

And what has that done?

What did the killing of Baitullah Mehsud did?

What did the killing of all others did?

You kill ABC one day, you have a XYZ and JKF the next.

Come on Cheng. What has a ground cooperation policy which eliminates drones got to do with the murder of 24 soldiers?

24 souls were murdered, what has it got to do with a policy over drones and other joint policies?

Remember, it was not a drone strike that killed the 24 soldiers, rather a helicopter strike on a post.

Well, ISAF/USA did formally express their regrets after the investigation, and have worked to prevent any further incidents, did they not?

What does anything above and beyond that get Pakistan, in tangible terms? Of course, for Pakistan to work towards the apology it is insisting upon would also mean offering other things in return, right? What can Pakistan offer in return that would make USA consider that it would be advantageous to offer the apology?

.
I'm all for apology my friend. What I find funny in that thread was Pakistanis were laughing on Indians. LOL I'm just trying to understand the logic.
1. US kill Pakistani soldiers.
2. Pakistan asks for apology.
3. US is ready to apologise.
4. Pakistanis laugh at Indians !!

Like I said, I'm all for apology that you asking. Don't lose hopes.

I don't understand what the hell is the problem with Indians. Why the hell are you comparing the two news out of which one is from unknown sources while this news if official citing different reasons for the recall.

Hypocritic nature of the Indian members, when some unknown sources reveals some news item which goes against Pakistan, Indian members start trolling and show their true hateful nature, but when same unknown sources tell some news which is in favor of pakistan, again their arses are on fire and they start trolling and show their hate filled hypocritic nature.

What is the matter with you guys, why the hell are you trolling and showing your true colors in each thread.

I think from now on, i will make sure that Indian members who fcuk around instead of getting an infraction will start receiving bans straight away.

Enough of Indian BS and pathetic trolling.
