We are happy that Pakistan got F 16 for its defense but we are worried because u guys have a tendency of using it offensively no matter how many Su 30 MKI we have.

If we have to use them to defend our land then we shall take that to the bank . Second any weapon from the US or else where in Pakistan's hands are no longer the suppliers wepons they are Pakistani wepons thenand we wish to do what we want them when we want and its none of anyones business . Pakistan is a nation that stands to protect its land and people wether it be these coward terrorist or any one else with a itch in there a$$ we are always ready thats why one gathers wepons to defend them selves simple now the ones that keep crying keep at it no one gives a ****.

I dnt think with these high profile weapons they use old ones against India . But if they use them against India so in future they face problem for any type of weapons import from USA.

For all those who compared other countries receiving more aid, thats exactly my point. Just as one can project internation politics as acts of a crying baby, Pakistan's appeal for its friends to do more in terms of financial help can be depicted as begging. Both wrong, but hey, who's counting.

The United States has sought assurances from Pakistan that the weapons that are provided by the US will not be used against arch rival India.
US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Robert Blake was addressing from a State Department blog forum in Washington where he said that India believes that a stable and prospers Pakistan would be in the wider interest of India and US.
Blake acknowledged that India had been less enthusiastic over US military support to Pakistan than the economic aid, but said: "I think they understand that we are trying to build up Pakistan's counter-insurgency capabilities."
"The United States consistently emphasizes... that it is very important in particular for Pakistan to take action against these groups that are targeting not only India but increasingly the United States," Blake said.

This is an eye opener for all the pakistanis, who say we can use F16's and what not against india

The US and the world realizes that to make Pakistan fight their terrorists, it is important to encourage them and at certain instances, to an extent mollycoddle the Pakistan Army by providing them with weapons and armaments that otherwise would have seemed imprudent.

While most of the aid weapons demands from the Pakistani establishment in this difficult war that they are fighting are just, it is fair too to see it from a US perspective where they have to somehow coax Pakistan in to changing the fundamentals of its erstwhile foreign policy and acting against the terrorist infrastructure that it helped build.

Hence to egg Pakistan forward in this fight that the world wants to see it carry out, there will be instances where the US & the world will have to indulge in the special desires of Pakistan Army and provide it with weaponary which has nothing to do with their fight against the terrorists.

However, with the above clear statement, US has highlighted that it understands India's apprehensions based on the past experience of Aid weapons to Pakistan as they end up being used against India by state or "non-state actors".

It is a commendable move which recognizes India's concerns that another misadventurous boomerang that lands in India is not obtained out of the aid the world is giving Pakistan to fight their terrorists.

Now, from a Pakistani perspective, this "end use monitoring" assurance of the aid arms available to them should not deter or concern them in anyway.

Afterall the mandate for the aid weapons as Pakistan has asked and as has been provided by US is for the support while they fight their terrorists. A war with India anyway does not clearly has that mandate, but that does not mean that the world is not with Pakistan in this fight against its terrorists.

If war brakes, surely American weapons will be used against India.
