US wants to join Indian Ocean group

Not same..

Or else you point to me more on this group and India's activities on it .

I am not saying that this is somewhat a military block, nor a group where word of India is the word of God. But there are some points which make it clear that India dominates the group:

1. This is the grouping of Indian ocean rim countries, where the largest navy is that of India, since trade & maritime security issues are at the forefront in this group, Indian navy is obviously the preferred navy that can act as a stabilizing force.

2. As pointed out by me earlier that eg. of Pakistan is obvious as to how India dominates the group, Pakistan is an Indian ocean rim nation, but it is not able to become it's member even after 15 years, it's like some south Asian country is finding it hard to get membership of SAARC.

3. Again, US talking to India for getting membership as a dialogue partner in the group points to the obvious.

4. Also not to forget India is the largest economy in the IOR, so it's dominance in the group is natural.

But, obviously this group is still in it's nascent stages & does not have much power, but with time things can change & this grouping can become more stronger.

You too show me some examples of lot of authority and power in the Group
1. India is a major contributor to ioR-arc's special fund-
IOR-ARC Special Fund receives USD $ 1 million - IOR-ARC - Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation
2. IOR_ARC's secretary general is an Indian-
Oman Tribune - the edge of knowledge
3.The chairperson of the Committee of Senior Officials is an Indian

And anyways, except Australia and Indonesia, none of the members are in a position to challenge India in the IOR. And since Australia is a die hard ally of USA in any case, the Americans would face practically no problem if the have Indian support......

This is a great group. With 80% of the world trade transit through Indian Ocean, Indian Ocean is the most important region in terms of security, trade and economy. With China, India and Indonesia growing, the gravitas of this region is going to increase further in future. However, membership to non IOR countries may not be a good idea, and it is like India asking membership in NAFTA

Guys, India enjoys greater say in the group. If outsider comes to group,it will dilute our position. Also it will legitmise dogs and pigs to enter and **** it.

Is false flagger is from begger state ?

It is bad idea to allow usa. We are the heavy wt in the group. We don't want to lose our position to usa. Australia and others may eventually jump in to debunk us.
|
China may blackmail us for exchange of shanghi co., group. Since we allow usa.
|
We should told them, that it is exclusively for only Indian ocean countries.
|
It should be noted,RIM is mainly formed to have a some kind of control over maritime safety and security of Indian ocean region. We shouldn't mess it up.

The US 7th Fleet at present and in the foreseeable future will continue to rule the Indian Ocean. Its better to have the US on board than have her on the sidelines. This group is toothless unless the heavy weight is not made part of it. Sure this group can take decisions but the question is whether the US will consent to these decisions. Without US acquiescence, the decisions are as good as useless.

Indian navy future accusations will make a heavy weight in Indian ocean, India do not need any big friend here

So you are telling me the Indian Navy will be a bigger heavier weight than the US 7th Fleet with these future acqusitions .

Thanks(this conversation is officially over)

India will defend its ocean without any help. Usa's 7th fleet may roame, but geopolitics dictate it cannot do unilaterally anything in this region without India's cosent.

It is not about US Navy's presence in Indian Ocean, but about the regional affiliations. By the way US may be a heavy weight military power, but India is a power on its own, and certainly won't bow before US.

Indian Navy is acquiring 100 naval assets in the decade to come and add some carriers and P8 to it. There is a Naval command coming in Andaman and Nicobar Islands with Strong and potent Naval force. India has bases in Lakshadweep.
Total naval assets of IN will exceed US navy 7th fleet in the coming days.
the acquisitions IN is doing is of cutting edge technologies so India is going to be a heavy weight in IOR in the coming days.

Assets like Naval Rafale, N-lca, Nuclear subs, advanced stealth frigates, destroyers will make IN a strong force to recon add to that Naval satellites, P8, and Evolving Indian coast guard for surveillance.

It's foolish to compare Indian navy to USN. Maybe you guys can get closer to USN if you buy more American weapons. In another word, India will remain a predominately imported armed force.

Also, any group headed by India would be a poverty alleviation group as it serve no other purpose.

This is exactly the kind of statement that cause others to not take you guys seriously. It's more likely other way around, child.

He ain't Taiwanese

Most Taiwanese would speak of truth bout superpower India.

This would be a good forum for US and other countries to provide poverty relief to india

Which part of Indian Ocean group mentions about addressing poverty relief to india? or any other nation?

Charter
The Charter declares that the IOR-ARC seeks to build and expand understanding and mutually beneficial cooperation through a consensus based, evolutionary and non-intrusive approach. There are no laws and binding contracts. Compliance with consensus based decisions remains without any rigid institutional structure to specify any rules and regulations.

Cooperation is based on principles of sovereignty, equality, territorial integrity, political independence and non-interference in internal affairs, peaceful coexistence and mutual benefit.

Membership is open to all sovereign states of the Indian Ocean Rim willing to subscribe to the principles and objectives of the Charter. The IOR-ARC is firmly based on the principle of open regionalism, as encouraged by the WTO.

Decisions, on all matters and issues and at all levels, are taken on the basis of consensus.

The IOR-ARC explicitly excludes bilateral relations and other issues likely to generate controversy and be an impediment to regional cooperation.

Cooperation within the Association does not prejudice the rights and obligations of the Member States within the framework of other economic and trade cooperation arrangements and will not apply automatically to Member States of the Association. It does not seek to be a substitute for, but to reinforce, be complementary to and consistent with the bilateral, plurilateral and multilateral rights and obligations of Member States.

Within the framework of the Association, Member States will pursue measures to promote the achievement of its objectives, and will not take any action likely to prejudice its objectives and activities.

But for a Indo-phobic poverty **** pervert , even WW2 Nanking atrocities will have some relation to Indian poverty.
