US wants better India-Bangladesh economic ties

They're still the same. No major changes whatsoever.
BRO, you haven't observed on how much 'Bollywood Masala' has impacted on SINO leadership to call INDOS as partners after Agni-V' blasting out of sky, have you? And what about importing Bharati's Basmati over Pak's protestation? And has Panda been nurtured in BD like in ASEANS for last 6 yrs not to see dire straightness in economic, social, mil and political fields? I guess, no. So, relationship hasn't proceeded first enough to feel the warmth from each-other's hearts, right?

Now, whether it's Bharati's interference or Commie's stupidity on banking everything through economic prism is primary to me as BD neither can project its power over them nor possesses the ability to out-maneuver them. And shiftiest of pendulum towards Bharati camp while AL being in power can also be seen through above premise. So, I guess we are doomed even with the line of 'SINO AS SAVIOR' thinking and Kalu Bhai is the Messiah to come up with his 'World order'. Having stated that we still vigorously need to engage Chinese to take the relationship upward again, thanks.

Simple example, For the last 20 years we did not have single case of Polio yet we cant ourselves declare as polio free country as WHO dont allow that. Reason India which surround us is still 50 years behind to eradicate polio.

Yes, Bangladesh is the best country ever, its has a GDP per capita 10 times bigger then India and its people never have diseases.

That is absurd. USA will not pick a fight with Bangladesh, we have excellent relations. Also, we are the third largest Muslim country and an example of "moderate" Muslims who are relatively secular and "democratic" (except for the fact that RAWamy League is actually a proxy fascist arm of India). And Bangladesh will not have war with India, not until we can achieve strategic balance using some magical geopolitical maneuvers.
Seconding on your comments, I still don't find the rational on why has U.S been looking at BD's issues through Bharati's perspectives? Why has it been allowing the conniving Bharatis to take ride for so long to bankrupt and throw it out of formidable global power's status?

Clinton had left U.S with over $$8 trillion surplus and it went to around $$14 trillion deficit after hobnobbing with Bharatis since 9/1. Isn't it enough for U.S to vigorously pursue mid-course correction or it would let its Chinese obsession to tear it further apart? Bharat is the prime beneficiary of 9/11 that used to be in U.S's enemy's friend and U.S along with Muslims is sore losers. So, shouldn't U.S wake up to catch foxieering of Bharaties? And wouldn't it allow SA's Muslims to bail U.S out of Afghan quagmire? I just don't get the stupidity for prolonging the cost of wrong wars that have dwindled u.s's image such badly. What could be behind it?

Listen up folks it is India that is responible for 8+14 trillion dollar that US has lost since 9\11. The whole world thought all this money was lost due Amrika's costly war (4 trillion ) on terror and not to forget Sub prime crisis. The real reason for the pathetic finanical mess in with US is evil baniya nation called INDIA.

Don't you guys ever be ashamed of lying through your teeth!

CHANDPUR, Bangladesh, 13 April 2006 – After a five-year absence, polio has re-emerged in Bangladesh, sending a fresh alert and boosting eradication efforts across the country. But the national initiative to stop the crippling waterborne disease came too late for nine-year-old Rahima Akhter in the town of Chandpur.

@sarthak.... Hahaha what a big looser... when its real face of India has been shown ... Then just started cying like a mad baby...

Again per capita gdp biss... Just educate yourself first to know what is base year and how it effects total GDP counting. Wait for couple of months Bangladesh is upgrading its base year to 2005. It will be higher then most of then Indian states apart from few. As all the states specially the eastern states are dirt poor and full of poverty. India's 78% poverty lies in the 8 eastern states...

This is an example of Bihar...

Regarding GDP of 1970 at that time Bangladesh had 33% higher GDP then India. India may fought war but it did not destroy its whole infrastructure like that happened to Bangladesh. Bangladesh had to start from beginning but still up to 1993 both had same GDP per capita.

GDP Per Capita constant lcu statistics - countries compared - Nationmaster

Now comes to education... what you are barking 11% tertiary education??? What is of India??? Only 16%!! But have you seen how in only 2 year it increased by 40% from 8-11%. If the current trend continue it will overtake India.

Regarding literacy have you seen where the drop is there in the part 2.?? For age 25+ as I have told after liberation war it was not possible to make all people literate. But from 1990s Bangladesh has started to peeking up. The up in tertiary is the biggest example.

N now enrollment rate has reached 99% according to the latest up to date data... what is the enrollment rate of India???

N India it is a place of some dhoti clat ... dirty and stinky people. Which not only eat rats but drink cor urine and marry dogs for better future.

N this is the same link you provided says about India...

India - Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia

India, the world's biggest democrazy, is an Asian mishmash composed of dirt, swamp, sparks, haze, spice, mind, ignorance, enlightenment, bliss, discrimination and egos all wrapped tightly in the void. It is an ancient conch-shell shaped land-mass surrounded by Pakistan to the West, Bangladesh to the East, China to the North East, Nepal to the North, Sri Lanka to the South, the Bay of Bengal to the West, with the smog above, the dead ancestors below, and which is directly accessible from most anywhere by foot.

HAHA , the bangladeshi got pissed when the real condition of his country was revealed. Just stop talking about the base year bangladeshi. Your country is **** dirt poor with per capita less than $ 690. If anything , it will decrease over the years as Bangladeshis are technologically inferior people only capabile of jute farming and rice farming. As your population grows , your GDP per capita will decline and will some day become lesser than all african countries. One of the reasons is that your country is so overpopulated. I can imagine how much it must stink living in such close quarters. I mean , a country less than half the size of Pakistan with 150 million people. All the states you mentioned have much better living conditions than your 4th world slum country

Are you stupid? Bangladesh and having 33% higher GDP than India ? Which third class slum school do you go to bangladeshi. Do they even teach you that Bangladeshi has a higher GDP than all European countries ? In 1970s , Bangladesh was slightly better than today because it didn't have that much population and there were less slums. Now , it is populated by all dhoti fish eating technologically primitive people who can't even launch a rocket into space. You bangladeshis have given nothing to the world. No software companies , no pharmaceutical companies , no automobiles . nothing. You people are a burden on the planet.

Here are some videos about your 4th world slum country.

Complaining Bangladesh to Bihar is a joke. Bihar is growing at 11% per annum while Bangladesh , well what to say. Don't cry about tertiary education Bangladeshi. You will never overtake us and you people will remain a technologically backward country. There is a reason why 5% of all doctors are Indian and there are so many indians working in silicon valley and other software companies. Our universities actually teach something , while your universities are third class and teach things comparable to what we indians learn in high school. That is why you never hear of any famous bangladeshi doctors , scientists etc. You people are scientifically primitive stinly people.

Here are some more videos about the slums in your country

Stop whining about the 1971 war Bangladeshi. You low intellect bangladeshis like to blame other countries for everything. India has fought much more wars than your country bangladeshi , and we don't blame them for lesser literacy etc. In 1971 war also , your country was hardly affected. Indian soldiers did all the fighting while you lazy bangladeshis sat in the shade enjoying roshogola and coca cola. Your 99% primary enrollment ratio is nothing to boast about. What really matters is the number of students who are able to go to colleges and universities. But Bangladesh hardly has money to invest in universities , not to mention its citizens are lazy and incapable of contributing to science

Bangladeshi intellect in full flow

First Polio is not a communicable disease. So it does not matter if India has or not

Second, India declared polio-free by World Health Org

Dude you dont know what you are talking about neither your over hyped media has any clue to it.

Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said the WHO removed India from the list after the country passed one year without registering any new cases.

Did you understand that? That means you did not report a case in the last one year that does not mean India is Polio free and can be taken out of immunisation program.

We had been passing through those years without polio years after years.

So stop living in your la-la land.

And yest polio is a communicable disease.

Businesses and experts in the states of the northeast India have called upon the central government in New Delhi to strengthen its bilateral economic ties with neighbouring Bangladesh, officials said in Dhaka on Friday.

A US diplomat, based in Kolkata, capital of the Indian state of Pachimbanga, also made a similar call, ahead of the scheduled visit of Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee of India to Bangladesh on May 5.

Meanwhile, the US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, is also scheduled to arrive in Dhaka at midnight on May 4-5, foreign ministry officials said.

According to relevant sources, the calls to New Delhi for consolidating economic ties between the two countries, just ahead of the visit of Hilary Clinton and Pranab Mukherjee, carry weight, as the US wants good economic ties between India and Bangladesh, in the wake of changing political scenario in the region.

A two-day seminar that concluded in Agartala, the capital of the Indian state of Tripura on Thursday, suggested that India should strengthen its economic ties with Bangladesh, the foreign ministry officials said.

To strengthen the friendly ties, the two countries should sign a treaty to share the Teesta river water and conduct a joint study on possible adverse effect of the proposed Tipaimukh hydel project in the Indian state of Manipur as early as possible, the seminar was told.

Meanwhile, traders in the seven states of the northeast India see an enormous business prospect in a win-win bilateral relationship between New Delhi and Dhaka. The traders of the northeastern region of India are becoming dependent gradually on Bangladesh, because of its geographical location.

They think good bilateral relations that may create the scope for transit through Bangladesh, will give them a great economic boost, as it will lower the distance between the northeast states to other parts of India and it may also open access to the nearby Bangladesh ports for external trade.

The distance between the seven northeast states of India and Kolkata, the capital of the Indian state of Paschimbanga can be shortened greatly if it is linked via Bangladesh.

Agartala, the capital of the Indian state of Tripura is only 350 km from Kolkata via Bangladesh, while the distant between the two state capitals is some 1,650 km through the rugged hilly terrain via Shillong in the Himalayan part of Paschimbanga and Guwahati in the Indian state of Assam.

On the other hand, Chittagong port is only 150 km away from Agartala, traders said.

Among others, Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) acting director general Sarvajit Chakravarti, Kolkata's Jadavpur University professor Om Prakash Mishra, Tripura (Central) University Vice-Chancellor Arunoday Saha and Bangladesh High Commissioner Tariq Ahmad Karim attended the international seminar.

The two-day seminar on "Northeast India in Transition: Tripura -- the Commerce and Connectivity Corridor between India and Bangladesh" was organised by Kolkata-based Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies.

The discussants there asserted that there should be a concrete political decision to strengthen the ties that have shown signs of consolidation following the high-level visits between the two sides in the last three years.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited New Delhi in early 2010 and her Indian counterpart Dr. Manmohan Singh was in Dhaka late last year.

Earlier, a US diplomat suggested for better trade and economic relations between India and Bangladesh through the former's northeastern states which has "huge scope for progress in future".

"India-Bangladesh trade and economic activities centering the Indian northeastern region have a huge scope for progress in future," said Kolkata-based US Consulate General's American Center director Jeffrey K. Reneau.

Interacting with students and teachers of the Tripura (Central) University on Tuesday, he said: "Indian government should further increase its trade and economic relations with Bangladesh using its northeastern region and 'look-East Policy'."
