The United States sets 12 conditions for a new agreement with Iran
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has set 12 conditions for a "new deal" with Iran.
This came during his presentation of the new US strategy after the withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear agreement, on Monday.
The US conditions are as follows:
1. Disclosure to the IAEA of the previous military details of its nuclear program.
2. Stop all uranium enrichment activities and non-production of plutonium and closure of the Arak heavy water reactor.
3. Allow IAEA experts unconditional access to all nuclear sites in the country.
4. End the deployment of ballistic missiles and missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
5. Release US citizens held in Iran and nationals of allied countries detained in Iran.
6. End support for terrorist groups in the Middle East, including Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
7. Respect the sovereignty of the Iraqi government and allow the disarmament of Shiite militias.
8. Stop supporting Houthi militias and work towards a political settlement in Yemen.
9. Withdraw all Iranian forces from Syria.
10. End support for the Taliban and other terrorists in Afghanistan and the region and not provide shelter for al Qaeda leaders.
11. Ending the support of the Quds Force - the Revolutionary Guards - for terrorists throughout the world.
12. Stop the threat to its neighbors, including its threat to destroy Israel and missiles targeting Saudi Arabia and the UAE, as well as its threat to international navigation and its cyber attacks.
