This is my analysis.

I believed China made a very wise decision to do nothing.

We all know that United States have been trying to provoke China to start a war in it's front yard....for years and years.

But it takes two to tango.

Because if there is a war in China's front yard, China will not win no matter what.

Nancy Pelosi was yet another bait. But China did not bite.

This is just my opinion.

Actually, if there's a war in China's front yard. China will win regardless what the U.S. throws at China. American think tanks, military, academia, etc. conducted numerous war games and China came out on top every time. You must be too naive to believe US will win in East Asia.

1. A military response to the provocation.
2. Something that will irreversibly change the status quo.

AND... They did just that, a series of military exercise encircling Taiwan so close to it parts overlap with Taiwanese territorial waters.

Talks of PLA planes intercepting Pelosi plane, escorting her to mainland were just "coulds" made by hyped up columnists.

I think the proper response might not be at or near Taiwan. It's better to respond at where the US more desperate in situations. For example, South America, Ukraine, and/or Iran. For Taiwan, I don't think Chinese planned to do anything other than some military exercises and flying close to the 12-mile airspace of Taiwan.

I took a look at the military deployment on north, east, and south Taiwan. Mostly are American carriers and lots of F15's. There're only two smaller Chinese ships on the north-east and they are not 055. The two Chinese aircraft carriers and all six 055 are nowhere to be seen around Taiwan.

Ccp is in dilemma. On one side it wants to do something to please nationalists because If it doesn’t act it will lose face. And you know losing face is the worst thing on earth for Chinese.

On the other side Chinese know it has lots to lose if going against the US. China has no friends and supporters in Far East.

So I think in this situation Chinese will do some sort of Beijing operas that’s all.

The US never says it supports Taiwan independence.
