I have no idea how the funding in the UN works.

China is throwing hundreds of billions across the world, and even trillions into US treasury bonds simply because we have nowhere else to park all that money.

A few million for the UN is nothing in comparison.

The only major difference between the United Nations and the League of Nations is the threat of nuclear war and probably the only good thing the UN has done -- containment of that threat. Other than that, there is no need for the UN. If the US exits the UN, there is no guarantee that the organization can be reformed. Its rot is too institutional. Its various humanitarian subordinate organizations can still be useful outside of its framework and even more efficiently executed. Just as the Soviet Union collapsed and your China changed, and the world is better served for that, the UN should either collapse or drastically reformed, and for that, we need a seismic shock to the system, either with the US withdrawal from it or radical reduction of US funds to it.
