US supports TAPI but not Pak-Iran gas pipeline: Richard Olson

I don't know if IP succeeds or not but do you really think Iran will let TAPI pipeline go through?
It will be busted 100 times before it reaches Herat.

u think iran can stop TAPI??? TAPI may be delayed for number of reasons which may be strategical or political. but iran is certainly not the one among them

TAPI is not a feasible project at the moment due to the following reasons:
1 - No confirmed reports of reserves of Gas from Turkmenistan Govt.
2 - No clear strategy defined by Afghanistan for the protection of 850 km of pipe line passing in heart of insurgents controlled area.
3 - Difficulties for Pakistan to safe guard 750 km of pipe line passing through mountainous part of Baluchistan.
4 - Cost of TAPI much higher than IP
5 - No seriousness shown by Indians to go ahead with TAPI
6 - No infrastructure in Turkmenistan for supply of more than 35 BCMA, their current production is all already booked for sales to China / Russia etc.

Regarding IP, Let me say that we have much more benifits than US sanctions;
1 - Gas already available.
2 - Much less cost
3 - Route of IP is safer (relatively) than TAPI
4 - We can Trade price of Gas for exporting our goods to Iran (not feasible the same for TAPI)


Regarding US sanctions; i would rather say that actually US never helped us. They spend 70% of their "AID" through their own NGOs and almost 50% of moneys goes in wages / logistics etc. They were never a trustworthy ally with Pakistan. Right from 1965 till now. They have USED our politicians and military commanders always for their own benefits. The put sanctions on Pakistan even in the time when india did they operation "Smiling budha" in 1974 (nuclear test). There are countless such examples in which Pakistan was left on its own in serious times of crises.

LET US NOT FORGET THAT US TREATS EVERY COUNTRY AS CHEWING GUM "GOOD TO KEEP IN MOUTH TILL IT HAS TASTE AND SPIT IT ONCE CONSUMED"

Let us go ahead with IP and also CASHNUPP III and IV. We have to stand on our FEET. I strongly believe that ONCE we will come out of US AID dilemma we will grow better and behave better. Not all 250 countries in the world depend on US AID.

Not to forget the price we have PAID for fight of US on our soil.

Yes india and USA got lot pain since Pakistan have made a deal with china on gwadar since that day terrorism have been increased in that areas several raw CIA funded Taliban terrorists increased there activities and after all Did Indian terrorist organisation raw close down offensive embassies on pak afghan border .Did raw stop financing Baloch terrorist BLA ??? Did Indian government respect the UN decision of referendum in kashmir??how Indian companies are working on different project in Afghanistan which posed threat to pak economy such as working on dame project on river Kabul RAW secret mission> mqm terrorists are funded for target killing in Karachi TTp for blasts in Baluchistan, kpk PAK IS HIGHLY CIVILIZED COUNTRY WHO DID NOT PLAY NUCLEAR CARD SO FAR while USA never was never will be sincere in energy crisis of gas and electricity since long but always created problems fueled and financed problems for Pakistan every where at every stage from black water Raymond Davis drones funding talibans for blasts sending terrorists in the form of us diplomats air blue crash near kahuta and list is big to discuss here relying on USA is the biggest trouble we must learn many things from india how secure there borders and also its very hard to keep gun without license in india , deweaponisation from Khyber to Karachi and completely securing afghan borders is need of time but still no one serious about it due to corrupt governments of Pakistan same thugs goons come again and again to rule Pakistan rather then giving a chance to patriotic clean record Pakistanis who can live and die for their soil rather then looting public wealth and escaping in end to UK USA to enjoy their rest of life and come back in the days of election but lot congratulations to all nation that Pakistan have made history for the first time spent complete 5 years of its democratic government but only 25% polled in previous election and lot poll rigging was done hope this time their is clean and fair election and this starved harmed nation could get some true leadership progressive Pakistan is in the favor of india too if both countries trade and freely go each other country rather then pulling legs of each other all the time.

inshAallah the IRAN-PAKISTAN gas pipeline will be constructed in the near future and allow us to be relieved to some extent of the power shortages that is gripping our country. As for the sanctions, yar U.S ko baqwaas kurnay dho. U.S has like the largest nuclear arsenal on the face of the earth and wants to sanction Pakistan for building a pipeline so the awam can make rotis. To hell with you U.S.A, go sanction Israel, the real terrorist.
