Its a very good thing and sends out a loud and clear message about USA's future policies about the region and India's role in it.

And it also have a major policy shift.

Till today USA was pro pakistan but now USA is ready to support something that will annoyed pakistan to the core.

That's a bold and open initiative of USA.

It says USA don't care what pakistan will think about it, its with India on this issue angering pakistan.

well its foolhardy to think the U.S. will bend over to please indians either.....considering your actors and politicans are regularly denied visas or strip searched, your own consul generals' daughter being detained in a penitentiary (not even a holding facility at the precinct)

at the same time, it's true U.S. has tried to push and provoke Pakistan....it's proven to be a failed policy thus far (unless you can prove otherwise)

the U.S. also acknowledges that emboldening india and trying to bring indian influence to Afghanistan at the expense of Pakistan's strategic and national security interests --is a dangerous move that will have severe consequences.
