A State Department spokesperson said the administration would move forward with the proposed sales to the UAE, "even as we continue reviewing details and consulting with Emirati officials" related to the use of the weapons.

Expected.

Just like with the Afghanistan withdrawal, it was a political move to halt this.

Besides, its not easy to back out of international agreements that previous administrations signed on to, without facing some sort of consequences.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration has told Congress it is proceeding with more than $23 billion in weapons sales to the United Arab Emirates, including advanced F-35 aircraft, armed drones and other equipment, congressional aides said on Tuesday.

Very good news, it was funny how everybody thought he was cancelling it when in reality Sleepy Joe is a lackey of the MIC just as all other presidents are.
I never understood what is UAE's need for this?
The UAE needs something to supplement and eventually replace the F-16 Block 60 and this is it. Your question is like asking why does Singapore need them? They both face risks in their respective regions and are much smaller than their neighbors meaning they must compensate by being technologically ahead of them.

Its said that nations don't prepare based on enemy rhetoric, rather they prepare based on enemy capability.

The Arabs, from what I can tell, are preparing for a potential Arab-Persian war, and because the UAE is so densely packed, Iran would have an easier time causing a great amount of Damage to Arab cities, and military installations.

The Arabs are upgrading their armies and defenses as deterrence towards Iran, as well as create a potent threat to contain Iran's growing influence.

Tl;dr The Arabs can't beat Iranian military experience, so they're trying to counter with superior technology.

Arabs from Morocco to the UAE have plenty of military experience.. but they are not warmongering like Iran.. They are looking for deterrents mostly .. as they prefer to avoid unnecessary wars.. the time is for development..

Unless of course, if that country is Pakistan, in which case there is no consequence to cancelling contracts as Pakistan will not come after you ....

Does anyone feel UAE has now displaced Saudi as the most important 'international' player in Gulf. Maybe its thanks to MBS.

UAE was gonna get these. The guarantor is Israel. Clever move by UAE. Recognize Israel and become chums with Tel Aviv. No American President would have the dares to stop you from buying the goodies.

You Think Biden actually gave a damn about the poor starving Yemenis nah lets sell shiny new toys to the UAE as usual

The government effectiveness (of getting stuff done and advancing) in the UAE is definitely ahead of KSA , but this doesn't mean the UAE will be taking KSA place on the international front anytime soon. Never really and upon the agreement of both sides

Pakistan is a poor country, and the US is Pakistan's biggest trade partner, where Pakistan has a huge trade surplus.

They both know it, so Pakistan will stay quiet.

I tend to leave nations like Morocco out, because they tend to have their own independent foreign policy. I also doubt they'd get involved in any potential war between the UAE+KSA against Iran.

Im mainly talking about the Gulf Arabs. Within the Gulf Arab nations, the UAE does have the most experience out of all the battle ready Gulf Arab nations, due to sending special forces across multiple battlefields, but even then they've had to rely on foreign mercenaries, such as Australian and Columbian PMCs for ground operations.

Out of the Gulf Arab nations, the only military force that's best prepared is probably the UAE, mostly because they do have competent leadership. Having said that, the UAE has a fairly small military force, so they wouldn't be of much use outside of homeland defense. Only the UAE's air force would be able to threaten Iranian forces within Iranian soil itself.
