What's your point? do you want Pakistan government to give in to their demands even if the are not in our interest and not beneficial for the geo-strategic situation in the region because US has a new government?

New or old, they can play with their domestic audience anyway they want (which is least bothered by what is happening in Pakistan or Afghanistan due to their own daily struggle for survival). Pakistan is not responsible for their internal politics, we should only look after our own national interests.

That's all fine and stuff, but why couldn't the new government signal it's own terms of engagement or narrative? We know the u.s. is playing to their domestic gallery of sounding all tough and trying to set a tone, but why can't the FO/FM do the same? It's high time there is a strategic communications manager in the Pak govt that can at the very least not make all govts look out to be either fools or appeasers - therein by inviting all the emotional threats, false bravado and populist overreactions that Pakistanis love to trot out.

You must have been living under a pile of dump your countrymen create on the open streets for a very long time.
Had you attended some proper school (not the RSS training camps where they teach internet was invented by Indians 5000 years ago in Vedic times), you would have known why Indians used to lap dance Soviets right from their independence to almost 1st decade of 2000's. Us only started courting India when they realized Pakistan will not play their game as it was not in our national interest. Despite their attempts to lure Indians to play their game against China and Russia, they still need Pakistan to save their *** in Afghanistan.

This has never been the intention of the US Deep State. Chaos is required in the region to stop China's trade route. All wars are over trade routes and natural resources, Afghan war is no different.



That's the crux of it. US official & declared policy is to contain China and Pakistan is a thorn in the implementation of that policy.

Since the Korean War, China has been a constant issue for the USA!!! Only it could have been dealt with a Final Solution......

Point is that the GoP is terrible at setting out and achieving its own interests because it always gets boxed in by others when the agenda is being set in the public domain. Point is that not only are they playing their domestic audience, they're playing Pakistan's domestic audience AND the government. Point is that when the talks happen all that's going to happen is Pak denying u.s.'s false allegations on the focus of the talks that the u.s. has signaled (won't be the primary focus b/c Pak has its own talking points but that won't matter when that's what everyone is going to be focusing on and commenting on in the media and forums) because the GoP refuses to engage in proper media management and putting out a proper strategic narrative for the region and the people of Pak. And pray tell how any of this is going to serve Pak's interest? This isn't about giving into anyone's demands, it's about putting yours out there so as to best serve Pak's.
