Brave solders die protecting their nation. This attack on Saturday once again reminds of us of the sacrifices being made by our forces. Those who continue to criticize our forces and their mission in the region seem to forget that our forces die protecting the lives of innocents. They are here not as occupying forces but as saviors of humanity… People who attack us ruthlessly have no value for lives, whether it is our brave soldier’s or innocent Afghan’s.

Have we ever taken a minute to reflect on these young brave soldiers who leave the comfort of their homes to stand up to protect others? Ours is a volunteer military, and some who are deployed overseas leave behind young wives and kids. We are proud of them and salute their families for their sacrifices. I am not going to talk about the terrorists much, for they not only kill our sons and daughters but have no regards for their own. On Saturday’s attack, two school going children were also killed, which speaks volumes for the terrorists and their motives. But I am going to address the conspiracy theorists to look at the sacrifices that our young men and women are making and to stop giving the terrorists an iota of leeway. They are killers with one mission, to create mayhem and kill to prove their power.

Rest assured, the resolve of the majority of the people of the region is to live in peace and dignity, and the terrorists cannot defeat them with their ruthless killing. We stand united against all terror and they will be defeated.

What nation? American nation? American nation never had a threat from Taliban - recall that 11 years back?? allegedly it was al-qaeda. Havent you taken revenge of your 3000 people killed on 9/11?

Its by your choice. Nobody invited you to Afghanistan. Were you expecting you would go to war without getting any causalities? Its part of the game baby. enjoy your stay in Afghanistan

That is your problem. You declare yourself as saviours of humanity when nobody asked you to.

Dont tell me you were expecting to go to war without expecting enemy soldiers would attack? and frankly if you talk about them not caring about lives of your soldiers then you dont care about lives of their soldiers aswell, isnt it?

We stand united against all terror and they will be defeated.

That....didnt happen in last 10 years. AND....it wouldnt happen in next 10 either if you keep on following your 'legal' terrorist policies towards other countries

Did we have peace before the americnas? and what is the gaurantee to have peace once they leave?

in comparison yes there was more peace during taliban era then now and the course of last ten years is not helping so we must seek some other alternatives. u afghans must sit together and come up with some formula

This what you want to believe, in reality that was not the situation. there have been huge acheivments in the last 10 years, although we didnt get the full result we wanted.

Ahmad, suicide bombings did not take place in Afghanistan everyday prior to 9/11. Innocent women & children were not bombed by the Taliban so brutally. And the violence has only increased, 2011 having more violence from terrorism than 2010 (31% increase). And the Afghan violence is now the 'worst since 2001':

Afghan violence 'worst since 2001' - Central & South Asia - Al Jazeera English

The achievements in Afghanistan have been unfortunately very exaggerated. The ANF/ANP have been relative successes, but almost everything else has failed in Afghanistan/become worse than before.

Things might have gotten worse since 2011, but i was talking about before 2011. It was messy and brutal, masacres used to happen regularly. ANA/ANP might be relative success, but they are not the only thing we need to talk, having established parliament, elections, expansion of media to a completly new era, TV, papers etc, freedom to express yourself and many more.

RIP brave soldiers - they joined up to defend their country, as Alfred Lord Tennyson's famous poem about the charge of the light brigade - soldiers don't decide to fight wars, they go where they are told to.

Forward, the Light Brigade!'
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldiers knew
Some one had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do & die,
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
