He's a FOREIGN MINISTER, smartpants. What's he got to do with air force? The French military (ground forces) were here to conduct exercise on joint counter-terrorism in high altitude terrain. There's even an exhaustive picture thread on it in the INDIA DEFENCE section. Go through it.

The minister's statements usually are keeping geopolitics in their minds and not what their forces are doing on the ground. Otherwise you won't be seeing Krishna approaching you for talks all the time considering the action our military is taking for defense of people.

drone strikes are mutually agreed otherwise there would've been open hostilities already
we have seen off the Soviets that openly said that they would remove our country from the face of the earth. there is nothing stopping us from doing the same we did to Afghan and Soviet jets. Had the war broken out, it would have been only us doing the fighting. America never came to bail us out with its 6th fleet during the fall of Dhaka and there were slim chances that it would have brought in its troops against another super power for the sake of a country that was not in the same league like the other Western European countries are.

In these times, there are no air violations from NATO that are delibrate or to provoke a fight, the terrain is such that helicoptes can stay into anothers airspace. but its not one sided we also get the similar blame when our shells land on the Afghan side.

its all good to blame Americans over not respecting our sovereignty (re 2 May OBL operation) but its only fair to expect the loudest protesters to make at least half the noise over the regular attacks of the terrorists on both the military and civilians.

If this is the case, the Pakistani army should fully pursue terrorists beyond the Afghan border, and even conduct air raids on militants that are a threat to our nation.

Not only France, any country's representative visiting India would give such statement.. If the same fella visits Pakistan he would state something according to Pak's policy (but will keep its own relations with India in mind).....
