S-400 is defensive weapon ... and you still didn't make deal to buy Su-35 ....

your air forced is based on Western technology .... adding Su-35 need a lot of modification and change in your air force structure

well , they can use other RAM and exported version of Radar and sub-system for it ... I mean they intentionally can sell F-35 to Turkey which is vastly different from what they have .... Just like what Russians always doing with their exported version of their weapons ....

and for your knowledge , Russia can depoly S-400 to Syria and try to track F-35 and this time the system is operated by their own personnel ....


I was watching a documentary , Turkey has so few Anti Air Defense System that mean in any war with NATO or Israel they can't really defend themselves and have to relay solely to their air force which USA knew about it and can Jam them easily .... S-400 will address this fundamental issue for turks and make them much more confident ...

brief of history :
in late 1980s when USA attacked our navy in Persian Gulf in behalf of Iraq ( they were say they are protecting Kuwait ) , our navy attempt to fight back but almost all of Anti ship missiles that our navy fire were jammed easily and none could even get close to American navy .... this mean , you can't fight Americans with American made weapons ...

I'm sure even if usa sell F-35 to Turkey , they will put more extra kill function and back door in the plane .... after all F35 is flying communication machine ...

But Russia and US didn't risk to put forward there S400 and F35 in Syria although the S300 threat kept USAF at Bay which helped Asad regime to fight back.

Well these restrictions were my point, the US would put restrictions for American made weapons..

Some of the restrictions included,

• The F-16 planes are under constant US surveillance. The US knows when they are preparing to take off, giving a US interceptor an insurmountable head start.
• Their software doesn’t allow them to target any plane squawking the right NATO codes.
• Their software doesn’t allow the use of nuclear weapons. Pakistan is said to have tried to modify this.
• The US can starve them for spare parts. This happened in the 90s. When Pakistan has a mini-war with India in 1999, their f-16 fleet was practically unusable.
• Pakistani F-16 can be used only for defensive purposes against attacking forces.
• F-16 flights outside of Pakistan or participation in exercises and operations with third nations must be approved in advance by the United States government.
