same was done in IRAQ, but there was news report, yesterday tht a trible force , was being hit by the USA, air attack.

the FC is loyal to Pakistan. it is more acceptable to the un-ruly tribals then the PA. winning the hearts & minds through a well equipped, efficient FC is not a bad idea. remember the FC officers are deputised from the PA so there is a high degree of control over the FC who are by and large a disciplined force.

Training FC and equiping it is not bad as you had mention FC is all lotyal to the country..

But the one thing which we and is disturbing that US plans to hire the common tribesmen directly that which i fear is tantamount to creating a state withing state in Pakistan which would be highly dangerouse as well.
And this time despite FC officer who are deputed from Army, the US plans to train the FC men directly.
