I will call elections with international observers and I will gamble that because I have all the campaigning apparatus already installed and more organised than any opposition...I might win the election and be legitimate."

But like most dictators, he's chosen to try and hold onto power. Any meaningful 'concessions' have been made once it's too late.

And now we have ourselves one almighty clusterf*ck. Excuse my language.

you are naive.... Alasad has been calling for elections under the UN administration, but guess who refused? the ones who calim Alasad has no support...

Syria has all the right to fight anyone with anything... anyone that rises a gun against the Syrian people and the government... how would you like it if protesters in Bahrain or East Saudi "Arabia" raised guns and started a war against the government?

From the very beginning Assad cracked down on our people bro ,unlike what happen in Bahrain. As for the Eastern region, I can assure you that they're quite happy about their lives.

You know how big our support for Assad was. We turned a blind eye to the death of AlHariri ,but know we can't help it. You know better how good our relation with Assad's regime used to be.

you seem you don't know politics... Syria and GCC were not in good relation, till 2008 when Syria and Qatar started good relation... but we got betrayed by "Arabs"

and I keep repeating there was not peaceful protests.. the only peaceful are in Bahrain...
