US miffed as Israel hints at unilateral strike on Iran N-sites

LONDON: Israel could launch a unilateral strike on Iran's nuclear facilities without much prior notice to its closest ally for over 60 year, US, according to information reaching here from Tel Aviv.

While the Israeli leadership has signaled support for US president Barack Obama in his re-election bid by urging Jewish voters in America to vote for him, Israel's defence minister Ehud Barak is said to have told general Martin Dempsey, chairman of the US joint chiefs of staff, that Israel will give the US no more than 12 hours notice before it ventures to demolish Iran's nuclear installations.

Barak's message to Dempsey followed what Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu had told Obama: that an early warning of Israel's intentions would not be available to the US. The Israeli army's elite 35th Paratroopers Brigade is training for a longrange operation for some time, so as to be prepared for military action against Iran's nuclear plants.

Expressing its displeasure at the non-cooperation , US has cancelled a joint antimissile exercise with Israel, which had been planned for April. On Monday, foreign ministers of the EU are expected to ban Iranian oil imports as part of efforts to tighten sanctions on Tehran.

Iran wont be a sitting duck for the Israelis. It is highly possible that Israeli Air Force can strike some of the nuclear facilities successfully but who on Earth knows what will Iranians retaliate with? This could easily incite WWIII. Despite all the proofs that Israelis do act stupid at times but still they aren't as stupid as Americans are when it comes to Military ops. I don't think they will strike! Not soon.

If Iran is developing nuclear weapons then the United States and Israel should take action against Iran. The regime in Tehran has threatened war against Israel countless times so another nuclear weapon state would cause mayhem in the ME. Israel developed nuclear weapons to discourage the Egyptians and Syrians from attacking them. If George Bush was in power, a war would have happened ages ago so I am pleased that Barack Obama is taking a less aggressive approach to Iran and it's nuclear program. BTW; Israel has the power to attack the locations of the Iranian nuclear plants. However, if a war does happen then no doubt Israel would not be involved in direct action because of the United States and it's relations between other ME countries. If Israel does take direct action, then no doubt it's going to have a few angry neighbours.

It is highly possible that Israeli Air Force can strike some of the nuclear facilities successfully but who on Earth knows what will Iranians retaliate with?

How on earth anybody knows with what weapons Israel is gonna attack? Does Iran have second strike capability? What if the Israelis attack massively at the first strike itself which has a crippling effect on Iran? Remember..Israelis are hellbent in stopping Iran's nuclear program. They have done it before and possibilities are high that they'd do it again.

I don't know very much about Israel... But I have a very different feeling after seeing the below link about Jews.
