Solomon the Pakistani public is already paying taxes and the money which the US is paying to NGOs, Media for own publicity is NOT at all going for any development in public sphere and the military one is spent on fighting your war.

So please do not worry about Pakistani public just be strong and stop the aid, if its in your interest then do it why you are coming up with lame excuses like what will Pakistani public do

Not "lame excuses, Jana. Just my ignorance, that's all. Thanks for the education.

Good Good!!! Now please cut of our so called "allianship". Please USA, if our corrupt Pakistan goverment don't want to let you go, you let go of us.

Just know USA once our so called "allianship" is over, expect some stuff to happen within Afghanistan and our region. Stuff that will make the past 10 years of the WoT look like it was a playground.

Don't spread lies, Jana. Neither is this Pakistan nor are we your everyday ru-of-the-mill gullible Pakistani audience.

You are on internet debating with Indians and Americans.

WASHINGTON: A key US lawmaker has introduced a legislation in the House of Representatives to stop American aid to Pakistan, saying the killing of al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad has made it clear that Islamabad concealed, protected and enabled him for many years.

"We can no longer afford this foolishness," Congressman Dana Rohrabacher said after introducing the 'Defund United States Assistance to Pakistan Act of 2011' in the House of Representative.

"The time has come for us to stop subsidizing those who actively oppose us. Pakistan has shown itself not to be America's ally," he said.

The bill says that terrorist outfits based in Pakistan, especially Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has been responsible for terrorist strikes inside India including the Mumbai terrorist attack in November 2008, in which 166 people including six American nationals were killed.

Rohrabacher is a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.

The bill outlines several accounts of Pakistan's duplicitous behavior toward the US including recent reports of Pakistani leadership lobbying Afghan President Hamid Karzai to move away from "imperial" America and to embrace Communist China, said a statement issued by the Congressman.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen said the Pakistani intelligence service has had a long relationship with the Haqqani terror group that is right now "killing Americans" in Afghanistan.

In 1998, Pakistan's military and intelligence services facilitated the transfer of an unexploded American Tomahawk missile recovered by Taliban to China.

The Chinese were then able to reverse engineer the missile and dissect its components allowing them to learn its vulnerabilities and defeat its capabilities.

During last week's raid in Abbottabad, a specially configured stealth US Special Forces helicopter crashed and even though US soldiers attempted to destroy it, the tail was left intact and recovered by the Pakistanis.

This is the best thing that can happen to Pakistan, Pakistan will be much safer without the american aid. US aids are not aids but strings for manipulation and exploitation. However, if Pakistan fails to tackle corruption at the top level, everything will be lost.

Well, in real terms, very little reaches Pakistani public from the 'aid'. That is my understanding. Some one here more informed than me can present the over-all picture. As I keep saying what the Pakistani foreign remittance alone sent in two months is probably more than the net aid reaches Pakistanis in two years; and the remittance is the no-string-attached $$.

Make no mistake about it: Panetta, by his Hollywood-like 'tipping off' of OBL raid remark in American media about 'Pakistanis' has alienated Pakistanis a great deal. Even as the Pakistanis are very angry with their army for the failure to detect American attack they are angrier at Americans to humiliate Pakistan in the media after so many sacrifices. Panetta, above all, will be the biggest big-mouth who damaged American-Pakistani relationship. Even if he was right--the possibility of a few 'low level' moles in ISI exist, per Musharraf--choosing to humiliate the nation of Pakistan is not going to be forgotten any time soon.

I can clearly see that Pakistani establishment is ready to brace for the aid-cut off. There has been hardening of stance from both sides for quite a few months anyway.

BTW, I don't think the cutting off the 'aid' itself will hurt Pakistan as much as the IMF/WB loans and the trade with the West would.

To Pakistan the US aids is not aids but AIDS, acquired immune deficiency syndrome.

Cut in aid will be a blessing in disguse. Pakistan needs to fix its tax collection and revenue system and they may just speed up the process.
