NEW YORK (Staff Report) – Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar on Friday said that there was room for a meeting between Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on September 28. However he added that nothing could be confirmed about the meeting at this time.

While talking to reporters the minister said that there have been no meeting between both leaders on the agenda so far. The premier will hold a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 28, he said.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be addressing the 70th session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on 30th September.

In his speech the prime minister will highlight the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the fight against terrorism, Kashmir issue, Indian interference in Pakistan and other issues of Middle East. He will urge the world leaders to press Indian government to restore composite dialogue with Pakistan.

Prior to the address Nawaz Sharif will attend global leaders meeting on gender equality and women empowerment organized by China and UN women.

The prime minister, who is leading a 35-member Pakistani delegation at UNGA, will chair a peace summit co-hosted by Pakistan, United States and the UN Secretary General. The summit will be followed by two separate receptions hosted by the UN Secretary General and the US President in honour of heads of states.

The premier will address the plenary meeting of General Assembly for adoption of the post-2015 Development Agenda.

Pakistan’s first lady Kalsoom Nawaz, National Security Adviser to Prime Minister Sartaj Aziz and Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rehman are accompanied the Prime Minister.

Pakistan permanent UN representative : India can't build any structure like wall as it against UN Claus laid by UN. We oppose any such moves.

When asked will Pakistan support or oppose India's UNSC bid?

One thing is for sure India's new found influence and its push for Permanent membership has rattled Pakistan and China. They didn't expected the recent developments which itself a huge boost. Today G4 submit to take place after India's power push at UN yesterday.

Ummm....when Ms. Rice came to Pakistan and Kerry went to India, the message from the US administration was VERY clear to both. Cool shiit off and down!!! And then Kerry also told the Indian government to "take whatever steps needed" to meet with the Pakistani PM during UN's thing in NY. So I'd expect a small 30 second, hello-hi to show nice, warm relationships.

Thing is Pakistan want to make India as violator of UN so India don't deserve to become permanent member. Very poor attempt. Credentials of both India and Pakistan is like comparing North Korea with United States. Same Nuclear threats and same restrains from bigger power.

The USA also have Nuclear missiles in Europe and now planning in germany and in response russian also give nuclear threats, china is making supersonic nuclear missiles which can reach USA mainland so dont tell us that we are the only nation to give nuclear threats, you cant because you dont have the balls to do it.And no one is comparing india with Pakistan we will compare you with china and in that case you are nation with a few rich guys and the rest are living worse than africans with no access to basic neccessities.
