What's new

US interest in Sindh is obvious and dangerous

What do you think would have happened, had Pakistan not provided "tacit approval"? They would drone us anyway. "Tacit approval" filled the coffers of our leaders with dollars.

Doesn't the US even claim today that Pakistan continues to harbour terrorists on its soil? What is stopping the Americans for so many years to attack Pakistani territory and take out so-called terrorists? Tacit approval. Like I said, once relations got sour and the Americans had to leave the Balochistan drone base, they couldn't operate their drones freely in Pakistan. Pakistan would shoot American drones.

I hope US start taking interedt and kick out bhutto and sindhis people who destroyed sindh and sitting on sindhi ppl graves

Your Baba-e-qom is asking Modi for asylum in his ancestral homeland India. Please help him. Also go permanently shift there.

The short answer is that Pakistan seeks no relation with the US. The long answer is that Pakistan won't tolerate US criticism towards Pakistan China cooperation.

Yours is a minority view. Pakistan has demanded that they want relations beyond transactional and move the focus from counter terrorism and security to business and trade. Finally, the US is offering to do that yet you want spurn them because they criticize CPEC? CPEC is a done deal. It should have no baring on Pak-US relations.

With the US, no and why does that concern an Indian wannabe american? I think your white master is calling you, go kiss his feet.

Why it concerns me is not your problem. My white master was your white master for a long time. In fact, he’s still your master. :D

Simply, lack of interest. WoT is so 2000's. And the Yanks are TIRED. Also there's China, Russia, NK and Iran to watch out for. Also the realization that terrorism can't be eliminated through drone attacks. You need public support to finish terrorism. Which is exactly what happened post-APS attack. From 11-9-2001 to 16-12-2014, people of tribal areas were against the state, which is why terrorism thrived there. After APS, they had enough of it, and they started cooperating with the state, army and LEAs, which is why terrorism was almost completely wiped out in a matter of few years.

Agree. Most deserving are Balochistan, Rural Sindh, South Punjab, KPK and FATA. In roughly that order. Where would the money come from? Punjab, especially Northern and Central part.

Agree. But not at the expense of rural areas of Sindh. But from the richest areas of Pakistan as described above.

Allow China to invest in those areas with jobs and development. No loans, let Chinese business people set up shop in the cities of rural areas to provide opportunities. Taxes will be collected from the prosperity.

An idea, China is doing a great job with their development of Xinjiang.

Let China invest. Let US invest. Let Islamabad invest, Let EVERYONE invest. But for some reason, OP thinks that US investing in Sindh is haram.

US in general is to be kept at arm's length. A purely transactional relationship is reasonable. Their ngo's and media cause enough damage overtly, without even mentioning their clandestine acts.

The safety mechanism of our nuclear warheads is donated by the US. If we can trust the US technology mated with our nukes, why can't we trust their investments in Sindh?

Depends, if these are businesses opening up shop to employ people in rural areas, great. If they are from medical and entertainment from Washington, then haram.

I don't think we should trust their "donations" in the slightest. I imagine they "donate" plenty of USAF time supervising our f16 inventory and avionics too, which again is an unwanted donation. If we are compelled to satisfy these requirements for now, fine. But I don't think we should volunteer any further favours to their espionage networks.

But they are already coming back in a big way. With truckloads of investments. Finally to get us out of long-standing isolation. Should we refuse them?

Nope. We already played that game before. We won't play a duplicitous game with our ally China. I can understand milking a cunning hyena like the USA which is always in it for their own gain, but China is our ally. China won't abandon Pakistan like the US did. There is something called loyalty. China came with the right intentions to the rescue of Pakistan when the US was ready to launch the final attack.

People forget CPEC came at a desperate time of energy crisis, where was US then? They couldn’t have cared less and even rubbed salt on the wound by cosying up to Indians, Obama droning & signing deals with them on anything they wanted.

Now that things are better and a bit more stable, people start laying on China, they should remember who stood with us in the hardest times.

Pakistan should tell US if they want to invest do it immediately in concrete projects or don’t bother.
