It is clear that the US ruling class is planning to make India a major ally. India has many variables that makes it the perfect ally against China. Here they are.

1. It is historically hostile to China and shares a similar interest with the US in containing China.

2. It will soon have the world's biggest population. It is the perfect destination for corporate America to move its supply chains from China, depending on whether India will be able to replicate some of the required infrastructure. They do not have to accomplish what China has but needs to just develop the adequate infrastructure to maintain and sustain these supply chains.

3. India is far behind China technologically and socially. It poses no threat to US primacy. India will also not likely follow China's rapid ascent upwards therefore it poses no threat to the US geopolitically in our lifetime. If India can replace China as the factory of the world, it will likely not move up the value chain to a point where it threatens corporate America's dominance.

4. India's vast population is a great market for corporate America to expand into and to replace China's with when the inevitable Cold War sets in.

5. India has a far more porous, open and corrupt political system which makes it easier for the Anglo Jewish elite to infiltrate and control. It will also be easier to manipulate society and manufacture conflicts in order to maintain enough instability to keep India from rising too much.

6. India's tech world is completely dominated by Silicon Valley. India is fine with this. As long as enough Indian engineers work in Silicon Valley firms and enough CEO positions are filled by those of Indian origin, India is fine with Sillicon Valley maintaining a dominant position in their tech sphere. China was not and it became too much of a rival, that is why China is a dangerous threat. India is willing to be intertwined with Silicon Valley but importantly, the ones in power will still be the Anglo-Jewish elite that run the US, UK and most of the Western world.

Lastly, as for Pakistan, the US, particularly under Trump has signaled complete readiness to abandon this relationship for the sake of cultivating this alliance with India.

USA want immediate actions and india is not in position to deliver anything right now. Nepal was their favorite kid and now nepalese have turned against them, its a new headache for india. Nepalese know they have got big support from china and can take on india. Situation for india is not good, USA is exiting from afghanistan and nepal has fallen into the hands of china. Currently Pakistanis should only focus on eradicating ethno fascists group like PTM, BLA and sindho desh

India is a pussy, India can't make the hard decisions, they are all talk and chest thumping, India will do shit and nothing more. Their infrastructure is a disgrace and is crumbling, they can't even build proper toilets lol.

There are many variables at play here, a key factor would be how China responds to such a scenario. Will China watch this unfold 'passively' ? More importantly we need to see how the covid chapter ends, based on that we can tell what Chinas options are.

India is too hot to be a productive country. A country that can't even make a jet engine.
Not really. It depends on skilled work force. In india literacy rate is like 75 percent i think. You cant be manufacturing powerhouse when one fourth of population can't read or write.

china before they become manufacturing powerhouse they did the homework first. Build up infrastructure and spend money heavily on education health and skill development. India didnt do the homework yet. Hence it cant be another china. Its simple as that.

Weather has nothing to do with being productive.

Usa might cause real damage to china if all EU countries..uk..canada are behind usa. But none is. This aint cold war when all the west was with usa.

China has good business relationships with Europeans and canada. Most asian countries and asean are connected with china's economic health.

The reality is china and usa want divorce. But neither can afford it.

India has 1.4 billion people. It only needs 100 million workers who are skilled enough plus some adequate infrastructure (factories with sufficient electricity, nearby ports, good roads between the two) to become a major manufacturing hub.

I disagree. It is clear that the US political and corporate elites have already determined that India will be the replacement for China. This is a long term strategy.

You cannot MAKE another country great. India and USA have been on opposite sides for 50 years out of 70. India has always INSISTED on non-alignment. Today it has good relations with Russia and US. With Venezuela Cuba Chile France Germany UK and US

The only reason people are getting hot under the collar is that the relations between US and India were barely concealed dislike for 50 years and now they are friendlier.
Nothing wrong in that, Indians did not join CENTO or SEATO or NATO or any defence treaty with US.
The country that did was Pakistan and Iran.
India has selective mutually beneficial small time agreements used to acquire US arms .
Nothing more nothing less

US never used Indian soil or will EVER use Indian soil for its wars, unlike Pakistan

India would NEVER EVER let the Americans bomb Indian territory as Pakistan did. It allowed US bases in Pakistan to bomb Pakistan territory and Pakistani people with american weapons in the hands of Americans

If such a thing happened in India then there would be a immediate revolution and whomsoever allowed it to happen would be publicly executed

In Pakistan they hand out medals

That's the past. I'm talking about the future.

Yes, Pakistan did sacrifice quite a bit to maintain its relations with the US. Actually, after 911, it really didn't have a choice. But the Trump administration sees little utility for Pakistan now.

It is a long term strategy for the US to pull India close.

India has 1.4 billion people. It only needs 100 million workers who are skilled enough plus some adequate infrastructure (factories with sufficient electricity, nearby ports, good roads between the two) to become a major manufacturing hub.

The main issues are:

A) federal vs state structure and consequence on concerted supply chain organisation+logistics+stable investment policy regd that

B) Deep agro reform (introduction of basic market operation there), still has not been done* in India unlike under Deng in China...so that better mechanisation sets in there as:

- productivity is better harnessed and rewarded
- better price referencing takes place
- savings rate from the wealth this create that can propel better credit for more productive industry and services

These both affect the labour supply and bargaining majorly in chunk of 10 - 20 year timeframe notably...and the urbanisation and development it promotes from supply side.

I plan to later write a paper on this later at some point in relation to specific Indian states that have performed lot better than other Indian states, because there is degree of variation within India itself for A and B.

For example my state (around 80 million people so its not small one) is far more industrialised than others and significantly export-oriented too, and also has urbanisation past 50%...and approaching 60% soon. What worked here compared to other ones that are laggards? Its cleaving more and more with time, but also the good news is that other states people are taking note (simply from sustained interaction by the internal migration this creates) and putting pressure on their politicians back home.

But people can simply think its because "literacy" rate as much as they want to, thats fine too. It has some role, but its not really a huge one given population of India as you mention (and what the similar and even lower intensities regarding these were for previous countries during their breakouts) and India has long achieved the 70%+ overall threshold and 90%+ for youth literacy.

Also countries with supposedly similar or even "better" "literacy rates" than India are doing lot worse too in industrial development.

Also their simplistic model does not check sectors where India exports (forget IT and stick to manufacturing) more than China or similarly, and for what reason:

http://www.worldstopexports.com/drugs-medicine-exports-country/
http://www.worldstopexports.com/car-exports-country/

Simply put, its case study of learning also what went correctly here and apply and broaden to more sectors too.

But they for some reason don't do basic deep enough analysis for their simplistic model and take on matters.

*There is finally significant legislative movement on this as of yesterday, long overdue, but implementation we have to see.

Interesting perspective. Time will tell.

US just deliver lip service to India, play with India, like playboy treated girlfriends. I am not kidding.

From US point of view, India is too big to feed and there is no guarantee India will be controlled by US. It's unlikely.

From India point of view, China share border with India and Pakistan. If India decide to join in the containment game with US, US will sit and watch, while India will suffer. US is 10000 km away, China is on the next door.

Also India want to keep independent, what India want is the position of China during Cold War. India do not want to be any power's vassal state. China was/is independent state during Cold War and post Cold War.

.
The term “Allies” is badly overused, and includes countries that aren’t allies, just trading partners, or client states.

The above countries may see themselves as Allies, but will not take the role of one, which is justified. No country on Earth will join the US the next time they start a war as long as the US is an authoritarian nightmare under Trump

I agree with all the points but US has not and will never abandoned Pakistan.
