She is not a senior US Diplomat, she is a deputy of an assistant secretariat position. Low to medium rank at best.

US Acting Assistant Secretary of State Ambassador Alice Wells on Monday acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in eradicating terrorism and conveyed the US's desire to work with Pakistan in furthering the shared objectives of stabilizing Afghanistan.

She also underlined the need for strengthening intelligence cooperation between the two sides to improve coordination in counter-terrorism efforts. (So the news about Pakistan pulling the plug on intel coop was true)



There are clearly rouge elements within American establishment particularly their CIA who want to have a conflict with Pakistan for the sake of Israel and India, in complete disregard to the interests of America. There cannot be any improvement of ties with US until and unless these elements are identified and neutralised for good. Any efforts to normalise the relations without taking on these elements within American establishment will infact cause more damage, as they will always look for ways putting spanner in the works. This is what Pakistan needs to tell America in no uncertain terms.
