WASHINGTON – After months of political wrangling, the House late Friday night passed a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill to modernize highways, rebuild water lines and provide billions for electric vehicle charging stations, the largest transportation spending package in U.S. history.

The passage is a victory for Democrats and President Joe Biden, who had suffered a stinging defeat in Tuesday's elections.
The bill, passed by the Senate in August, will now be sent to Biden who is expected to sign it into law.

The 228-206 vote followed bitter differences between Democratic progressives and moderates who clashed over the size and scope of Biden's $1.85 trillion Build Back Better budget bill that would expand social safety net programs and enact sweeping climate programs. The deal Democrats struck allowed passage of the infrastructure bill Friday and a promise that the larger bill would get a vote later this month.

Great news. On top of this the democrats got a wake up call in the 2021 election. The Mayor Elect of New York, Eric Adams is taking about practical solutions. With the passage of the infrastructure bill, millions more Americans are going to get to work making the country efficient. Just watched and interview of Joe Manchin, a person I have personally met one on one, and he has been limiting the social spending to keep the country’s finances in balance. The US economy is hopefully about to roar back, and with it, it will be a strong export market for the rest of world.

So this passage of the infrastructure bill is great news, not just for the US but for the world. (Ex: the US is gonna build more EVs, so the market for Lithium and other minerals will go up, which will make mining in even more attractive to American/Western companies, which could be how western companies motivate their government to reconcile with countries like Afghanistan, to get at those mines, paying top dollar to them as they compete with China for mining rights, and transit countries like Pakistan get to benefit along the way)

Way to go Joe.:usflag:

Lol, the only one roaring will be politicians and their construction companies. All this is useless and good for politicians pockets. Similar way how they ripped off landlords and hotel industry by forcing them to house non paying delinquent tenants or squatters but kept govt revenue flowing even increasing taxes on properties. When will govt fund those landlords for violating their constitutional rights?

What more of an example that a bridge built 100 years ago being built in 2 or 3 years while today just repairs and maintenance take 10 years.

Only thing these trillions of $bills does is jack up the inflation which none Democrat seem to get.

A lot of the social spending bill is pork for Democrat politicians, which is why Joe Manchin is trying to curtail it as much as possible. He didn’t want to expand Medicare because he says it will run out of money by 2026 if it’s cost keep growing, and social security is going to run out of money to pay the full amounts by the mid 2030s.

The physical infrastructure bill isn’t as much pork as you might think. It’s actually the backlog of things that should have been done, but didn’t seem to get through Congress the last 30 years.

Definitely there are gonna be markups in public construction, we don’t have to look any further then the 2nd Avenue subway; billions for just two miles of tracko_O

but in the physical infrastructure bill are provisions to offer cheap loans to private companies to build infrastructure, like Texas Central railway; the first real high speed train and it’s all private.

Well, Medicare is completely different topic. Medicare or Healthcare shows the outdated monopolized system which does not benefit the public. Healthcare should be completely free for all controlled by ministry of health, not insurance companies.

But like I said, no Democrat will approve that kind of social spending because that hurts their own pockets.

Democrats want public to realize that there is no reward for working hard but for sitting home on welfare and social services.

That’s why the working class has keep shifting to the republicans and given the democrats a kick in the behind in the recent elections. Even people that vote Democrat want to see things get done.

Manchineel and Democrats like him, those that want to get things done and stay in power, have 1 year to turn things around or they will lose both houses of Congress and limit anything the president wants to get done. The COVID money isn’t coming anymore, so people have to get off welfare and social services and get back to working filling the job openings.

If the republicans take congress in ‘22, they’ll almost certainly take the White House in ‘24 regardless of who is the candidate.
