US holds the Indo-Pak line of control

India is ahead of Pakistan and it's economy is in better shape mostly because of American largesse. The US wants a counter-weight to China and they think India will provide them with such.
The whole containment of China strategy will collapse if either India decide to not participate or is unable to. Now India will be able to dedicate more of it's assets against China if somehow the Pakistani threat goes away. This is where the whole design of the US strategy comes in to work. That is to turn the Pakistani Army into a counter-insurgency outfit, without the backbone to go eye ball to eye ball against India.
The US still is the sole super-power and what it decides to do in Afghanistan and what role it assigns to the regional players, will have a major affect. But this is not to say that Pakistan doesn't have a choice.
At this juncture Pakistan can either listen to the American diktats, become a second rate power, and accept India as big brother or join the Chinese camp and say no to American global and Indian regional hegemony and be in-charge of it's own destiny.
those who chose to be the master of their own destiny remains alive but those give up there destiny in hands of other,s evil design also live, but in hsitory.....sometimes.........

China is a red herring in this thingy. Please avoid it if you can.

LOC or line of control $hit is between two Indian rajas aka Pakistan and India. That's all.

USA as an inheritor of British empire tend to view India and Pakistan the same way as Brits did during WW-2. With old time admiration for their armies.

And thus they don't want to see them destroy each other for $tupid reasons.

Hope you understand.

peace

No country in the world recieves more aid per capita than Pakistan with the sole exception of Israel. Most of that aid to Pakistan goes from US.
What does that tell you?

India has developed its economy by selling goods and services to the world. Companies come to India because they have to lower costs to survive. There is no aid that floats Indian economy.

India has a border dispute with China. As long as China refuses to settle disputes with India, India will arm itself and prepare to counter China in what ever capacity it can. Blaming US or any other nation is pointless. They are looking for their interests just as China is looking out for its interest.

China is trying to prop up Pakistan as a counter to India. That they are not successful is another issue.

Pakistan by virtue of its economy, its country size and military will always remain a second rate power. Allying with no nation will change that. There will always be far bigger powers than Pakistan in the global arena and India will always remain one of those.

@fauj, why does Pakistan always find a need to be someone's puppet? if you can answer that then that answers the whole geo politics of Pakistan and its existence.

India a far bigger power in the global arena than Pakistan and always will be !!!
seriously ???
How do you define "far bigger" ??
Now Who is being delusional here ?

I dont know how you define as 'far bigger' but at 4 times the size, 7 times the population and 8 times the economy India is a far bigger power than Pakistan.

And the gap is only growing larger. India continues to grow faster than Pakistan economically and slower than Pakistan in population. Im sure you can do the math.

We are talking about "far bigger POWER" here, not bigger size ........

With over 94 % of your population having net assets worth less than 10k US$ , and 70 % living on less than US$ 2 per day you think you are doing really good ??

You can`t even dare to attack a "much smaller" power like Pakistan , fearing that we have greater number of war heads

Whats all the chest thumping about ??

So many Indians are still living in 60s when it comes to LOC.

Kashmir is now a 100% internal issue of India.

Could you explain these two points above /

We dont need to physically attack to achieve our aims , at least as of now.

Satisfy yourself in any manner & I shall agree with you.

As far as India is concerned, we have what we want & there has been no change to what we have since 47, nor shall ever be.

Satisfy yourself in any manner & I shall agree with you too. :)

Do you know what are the factors that feed into what we call 'power'.
For reference - please look up to what CPC uses, that India has also adopted.
Comprehensive National Power.

Again, for gods sake. Try to read and comprehend instead of shooting from your hip.
India's power was manifested when India is able to influence events and alter their course. India has done that numerous times to our advantage.

The gap in Pakistan's CNP and India's CNP is growing, not decreasing. Give it a decade, and you will see more visible manifestations of it.

No need to get frustrated my friend . You have yet to prove (or at least try to) that India is a FAR BIGGER POWER than Pakistan ...... (special emphasis on far bigger)
