Seeing how mopeds were driven in Egypt (I assume Pakistanis aren't much more careful)....it's a wonder this doesn't happen more often. RIP to the dead.
Pakistani traffic is not as brutal as that of Cairo's (except maybe Karachi) though anywhere outside of main areas of Lahore or Islamabad there isn't much road discipline
i think this thread isn't worthy simply because I do think this was an accident....people are still having Raymond Davis affair on their minds and it brought about a huge amount of anger and resentment
as for the diplomat -- probably re-assigned another job somewhere else. The embassy ought to pay a handsome fine to the government and pay a large re compensation to the family -- since the dead guy was probably a bread-winner.
