I guess KSA newspapers would headline the same for USA....... Last year just in the state of Texas 10 people were executed.
There is no need to. Whatever the judiciary of Texas decides is the business of Texas. As a proponent of a tough stance on crime and as a supporter of the death penalty I will not object to guilty hardcore criminals getting the death penalty.
This opinion has only been reinforced after knowing from close hand what happens in the average Western European country to hardcore criminals and how many of them escape scot-free.
Judiciary reforms in KSA are definitely needed and some moronic laws (all fairly recent - not older than 20-30 years) should be abolished but the death penalty should be upheld for the most heinous of crimes. No matter how many liberals and socialists that are crying themselves to sleep because for instance a child-murderer like that Burmese women is executed deservedly for her heinous crime.
Saudi Arabia has very strict laws and that is the reason that there is still peace there despite all the turmoil in middle east.
Actually they are not that strict as long as you do not engage in murder, rape, armed robbery and drug smuggling. Outside of that nobody will bother you. Just use common sense. Just like if you were based in China, USA, Singapore, Thailand or anywhere else.
Outside of the few recent (20-30 years old laws) moronic laws that have nothing to do with the ancient local culture or Islam really to be honest (for instance the ban on women driving) then the laws of KSA are really good and it shows as KSA has one of the lowest crime rates in the world despite being located in the middle of a very volatile ME region and home to one of the most cosmopolitan societies in the world. It speaks for itself.
In any case the West barely ever mentions the laws in KSA in public. They know that it is fruitless to complain. Only KSA will change them whenever the need arrises. The people of Arabia have always been one of the most independent people on this planet on all fronts.
Once again a reminder;
All people executed so far this year in KSA have been either murderers or drug smugglers that smuggled big or huge amounts of hard drugs into KSA.
Since KSA and the GCC as a whole is located at a major crossroad in the world (between the remaining Asia, Africa and Europe) and moreover is bordering major sea trade routes (for instance 25% of the entire international ship trade is going through the Red Sea) and is a very lucrative market for drug smugglers due to being a very wealthy region of the world, the war on drugs is getting bigger and bigger and more difficult for each year it seems.
