The money for this is comming out of our CSF funds stuck with the u.s...they were not allowing Pakistan to use them as we see it fit.

Now they have agreed to this, to bhai I don't know why some members are going hysterical over it.
We are not paying any thing for it, plain n simple.

CSF was a fund for "services rendered" by Pakistan during the WOT. Last I heard the u.s owes Pakistan around 10 billion $ under the head of CSF.

These western military hardware is nothing but a shackles .

It's a diplomatic tool just as much as those systems are military tools (very good, potent ones at that).

One can understand the emotion but snubbing America and completely shifting major military purchases to China would be unwise imo.

India have played the game well, diversified but kept a balance..

S-400, Kamovs helos, SSN etc lease from Russia

Chinooks, arty guns, small arms, fighter engine from US

Submarine stuff/Rafale from France

Drones from Israel..

Customer is king, everyone wants a slice of the pie.

Not an ideal scenario, but this will have to do up until we catch up in those critical areas where rapid strides are being made. Naval indigenization dekho India ki, Army m bhi dekho.. Aircraft are tough but fast learning there too..

Any maintenance money spent on F16s is a waste of money. Even if all the parts are free, you have to pay for technicians and pilots, fuel, and other staff's salaries. Why is it a waste? If you must ask, it's because these F16s are not allowed to engage and shoot at any Indian militaries. Then, what the heck are they for?

Display? Fly around in your national days? Or fight China ... That, my friend, will be allowed by your master in DC.

The best course of action to save money NOW is to trash or sell all these F16s to African nations.
