Has Russia given any public indication that it wants to deal with Pakistan in military equipment? Any sources to back that up?

One reads all the time that they are backing the Northern Alliance! That the KGB (FSB?) is involved in Balochistan et al. So is this talk something based on wishful thinking or based on some solid facts?

What i am reading from you is a wishful thinking!

Russia will have no choice but to deal with Pakistan on military terms once India introduces U.S. military equipment to her armed forces.

Do you really think Russians are nut-cases? Its called business!

Apart from that Russia controls Indian-defence spending, it feeds the defence ministers.

I am sure Pakistan dealing with Russia will decrease the dependence on U.S. military equipment, and cheap cost-effective systems can be introducted to the Pakistan Armed Forces.

Russia after all is a soverign nation, who doesn't have to follow what India says! So whatever India goes for -- will be interesting to look for.

I just wanted to know if we have something in the public domain regarding such a possibility or all we have is the "Russia has no choice" arguement?

And I read about the Balochistan and NA backing of FSB from Pak media only so I guess you would consider them more reliable.

Every country have its own intrest if Russians thinks that they Pakistan was in its intrest then the every thing is open for us just see in last 10 years how many things they offer to china before 1994 what china have in its defence industry the boost was given by the Russians and specially they are having all the things manfutured in Chinas and sold to any in the World.

I think you seems to have pretty let regarding the arrivel of US weapon in indian inventory. US has already supplied India with Jet engines for Tejas,Treton LPD and Radars. In addition to it, India already preparing to join US to work Nucler cooperation and Space application.

Regarding Russian help to pakistan, you know I am the one who very eagrly to waiting to happen it, atleast it will make India to focus on Homegrown projects.
