If we look at the Kashmir Issue for the past 70 or so years, it has largely been a egoistical issue from the Indian side while the Pakistanis had genuine reasons. For starters, the Kashmiris are essentially our own brethren; religiously, ethnically , culturally you name it. A large portion of Kashmiris want to be either independant or be a part of Pakistan. India is no where mentioned. Why do you think the Indians do not conduct a plebescite? They know they have no right on that region and are occupying them forcefully. The flow of our water also comes from IoK. Waters of a river that is 90% situated in Pakistan.

Honestly, as someone demographically close to the Kashmiris, i view them as my own people. It is unbearable for me to read of the atrocities being committed in IoK. I would've been okay with a peaceful resolution with the Indians had i known that the Kashmiris in IoK are being taken care of and treated nicely, or if they were alright and are genuinely happy. But that isn't the case anymore and has never been. They may try to fool us into thinking otherwise but we can see through their blatant lies at this point. Indians are the worst absolutely most disgusting and filthiest nation on earth. Knowing them, they don't fully grasp what a big catastrophe it would be to initiate a Nuclear war. But Pakistanis, just how much more injustice are we able to endure at this point? Every passing day, their dreams for trouble is getting bigger and bigger.

Pakistani leadership should seriously consider it a possibility. I don't know how much air is in hindutva bubble because war and it's ferocity will depend on level of hate they can muster and for how long. Secondarily and more importantly due to current economic circumstances it is entirely possible that U.S. may leave Afghanistan much sooner and Afghan government's entire foreign aid(from all global donors) dries up... I do not know how long current setup will survive post international presence.

If global oil glut persisted in up coming months it will also start putting current economic paradigm under deep stress(already manifesting), something unheard of in recent times. Especially, if the virus returns in fall and everything shuts down till spring of 2021... it is not entirely farfetched looking at history of past pandemics. All of these factors will escalate an already transitioning world order and that is why states will posture and position themselves to back the percieved winners. Whereas those on the receiving end may or may not go without putting any resistance.

Iran is also in the midst of all sorts of crisis both from the virus, oil glut, restive population, sanctions and its ambitions in immediate neighborhood.

I do think Pakistan finds itself at a very critical position in global politics though I do not know what dynamics will be in play when $#!% hits the fan.

Realistically, I see a combination of factors converging:

1. India announces some major political change to Kashmir
2. India covertly begins Israeli style settlements to change demography
3. Pakistan issues a major warning to cease immediately
4. India continues and makes botched attempt to annex some of Pakistani Kashmir
5. Major armed confrontation takes place between Pakistan and India
6. Both deescalate, if one side rejects, both go to war.

Other factors could really serve as a catalyst to ignite an Indo-Pak conflict into an open confrontation.

Biggest would be if Trump gets elected and Iran decides its ready to go to war with US.

Pakistan gets distracted trying to do damage control between Iran and US and then India smells blood in the water and decides to launch an advance in Kashmir.
