Does anyone know how to get a Police Certificate in Karachi ? someone told me that Police Stations ask for Bribe money to make such certificates , i need it for my Immigration process so i don't want to do anything by paying bribe money or illegal way , anyone knows or have any information please let me know .

I'm pretty sure you need to go to your kachehri. They forward the security check to your local police station. My Dad told his guy to handle it and then he just called me one day to show up at the high court. Had to fill out a form with the addresses that I had lived at and then they took care of the rest. You shouldn't have to pay any bribe or anything.

I'll ask my Dad in the morning and let you know.

Just go to your area Police Station, you may need to fill out a form and will have to provide some of the docs. They would provide you your Police Certificate within a week. That's how I got it.

So this is what you need to do. There are police centres across the cities (not thanas). The ones where you also go to get your driver's licence's process started. Dad said that there should be one at Awami Markaz and another near kda authority. But best ask someone in Karachi. They will have you fill a form, ask you for passport photos and your id card's copy. Alternatively you can also go to your kachehri. Other members have said that you can get it done at a police station as well.

Yes it is Police Certificate, you have to go to your local police station/s (depending on multiple address you lived in last 10 years. Not only you but it is required for your wife, kids etc. Local police will run your records and also do investigation on their own, this investigation includes coming to your neighborhood and asking questions from your neighbors and they will also stop by at your house and ask questions from you, just simple questions like how many years you are living in this house etc etc.

P.S I'm from Karachi.

@krash I went to Gulshan Police Station which is under my jurisdiction , as today was Sunday the Officer told me the guys didn't come , but he told me that they have a Form which they will give me which i need to fill and return it with some additional Documents and Attestation ( i believe ) ..

@American Pakistani well i talked to few people no one told me that they might come to my home or etc , as for my Wife she is not Pakistani so i don't think she needs it , either Pakistani or American Police Certificate if it exists .

As far as I know they do come to the address you provide them and conduct minor level investigation. I don't know what applies to the foreign spouse. But it has to be for every family member involved in immigration process.

You need to visit your local police station and ask for character certificate. It is one of the immigration requirements to meet when apply for immigration
