Upper Karnali Hydropower Project, Nepal

Learn to listen. Don’t just disagree for the sake of it.

Know that @UKBengali has a degree from an elite British university whilst your average YouTube celeb has a diploma from chetona (aka Dhaka) university.

@UKBengali was also spot on with his covid assessment. Unlike his detractors who were way off the mark. Like the troll Nilgiri!
I once had to explain the basics of tariffs to a fine graduete of London School of Economics. Once again I see another claimed graduate of an elite Britih school lacking a simple ' Reading Comprehension' skill or post with supporting content. I don't want to see a third shining example cause that would certainly hurt my feelings as I would like to think elite Brit School quality hasn't gone down the same drain as Classic Bristish Rock did!
As far as Corona virus goes anyone with connection to Bangladesh knew what was going on except for Modi fanboys.
My posts are simply consistently stating be prudent moving forward.
Internet forums are anonymouse, everyone is John Doe, employed at the biggest hedge fund, great nephew of Einstein, or best friend of George Clooney/Donald Trump for that matter.
It is the last place you want to be known as somebody !

Problem here is that since there is no instant correct answer, they do not know they are wrong.

In school in mathematics they would have been told instantly that 2 + 2 = 4 and so their answer of 5 was wrong.

We had someone have a go at me for that Nepal-India-BD hydroelectricity supply thread, since BD does not have a hydroelectric power industry that can build the plant itself in Nepal and so India would be building it instead.

They seem to have missed the bit that BD is one of the flattest countries on the planet and so it would have made no sense for it to have built up a hydroelectric power industry in order to build plants in other countries on the off-chance the opportunity arose some day.

It is like I say the inability to take in a mass of disparate information from different sources and angles, process and analyse it and come to a valid opinion on each individual topic from this that lies behind just plainly getting it wrong time after time.

I think it’s their education system.

Bangladesh has Rote learning. It is about cramming loads of facts but short on critical thinking.

I wonder how many would pass a standard critical thinking test?

I very much doubt a graduate of LSE would not understand the basics of tariffs. Even I, as an engineering grad, understand it!

It’s a fact that Dhakaya elite isn’t respected much outside of Dhaka. Even their “shuddo Bangla” is ridiculed in Kolkata!

Not many would get a teaching job even in a third tier U.K. university.

However, I love ordinary Bangladeshis because of their work ethic, moderation and patriotism.

Thanks to Hasina we have an international airport in sylhet - so I tend to avoid filthy Dhaka these days.

You need to check out RSTP 2016-2035.

When it is complete Dhaka should again be a clean and relatively well functioning city.

Too many people here have written off Dhaka but Hasina has an excellent plan to give a middle-income BD of the mid-2030s a capital they can be proud of.

With an excellent transport infrastructure in and around Dhaka, all slums cleared and even reverse migration out of Dhaka due to a combination of remote working, better transport links and the SEZs dotted all over the country, Dhaka can be a proud city once more.

I don’t think I will ever love Dhaka because of its inbred “elite”.

Vying for power, plotting coups and counter coups. Ambition way above their station!!

Every Tom, dick and Harry with a newspaper and TV channel.

Many have settled in NY through family visas and now work as Uber drivers.

You can see and hear them discussing AL/BNP politics in Pakistani and Indian roadside eateries in Jackson Heights.

Akdoom, bakdoom, gorar doom shaje - is their level of sophistication!!

I dont know what Dhakaya means , I have no idea if it is a British Bangladeshi thing.
Yes LSE anecdote is fact, matter of fact that person has a Masters Degree in Economics.

It is childish trying to establish any kind of credibility in an anonymous world.
Your post content should speak for you.

Please don't comment on economic matters unless you have experience being brought up washing dishes in the UK. Please leave it to the two know-it-all, "experts" here!

Only school drop-outs boast like that out of insecurity. You can tell from their posts how out of touch they are with BD.

Imagine how poor one's upbringing would have to be to simply divide Bangladeshis among "Dhakaiya Socialist Elites" and Sylhetis - result of being raised by village idiot illegal migrants.

^^^ Can see the self-proclaimed economics "expert" has been triggered big time.

Still laughing at that ridiculous "BBS Fake Statistics" thread - lol.
