What's new

unseen video of Special Combat Unit (SCU) of KP Police.

Agree, but Kp police is less corrupt and better in behavior than their colleagues in Punjab Police.
I don't give credit to PTI for that because it was like that before PTI govt and nothing has changed.

Punjab Police on the other hand is pure colonial/terror organization. More dangerous than TTP or any other terror group because they operate under name of law.

Are you kidding me? How was the performance of the KPK Police during ANP/PPP Era?

The lion share of the credit goes to Corps Commander Peshawar and IG KPK the Lion Heart Nasir Durrani. Corps Commander Peshawar deserves recognition for providing Army Officers to help setup up Training Facilities, Signals Cell and a Strategic Cell for coordination with the Army. Nasir Durrani deserves the credit for raising the morale of the Police Force, enforcing discipline, improving training and rigorously improving Policing Standards uniformly across KPK. Hiring the best talent from across Pakistan and promoting for once based on performance and not loyalty. I mean, just compare Punjab IG Mushtaq Sukhera against Nasir Durrani. Sukhera looks like a constable from his face and the way he talks, pure Jahil.

PTI deserves the credit first for hiring Nasir Durrani, second for giving him complete independence to operate the Force as he desires, and third for raising the Police Budget 6 folds. Trust me i know, i have worked initially with KPK Police quite closely. PTI has given them complete independence on how they want to operate.

Still i want to know their training is equivalent to army or other armed forces and in case of war can they perform like SSG or other special forces?

They could, but they are largely trained for CT Ops and not Conventional Wartime Ops.

I inquire because if they could perform both roles than i would say i would be a great assert in peace times and in war time.

No matter how much the police is trained on special Forces standard, it cannot be used as a Military special Force like SSG. Reason being that Police upholds the law and ensures that law is followed by public. Police is accountable for at many levels, even by public. Police actions can be challenged in court by public. If Police catches or kills someone, they need to back up their claims with evidence in court.

Military operates on a whole different level.Military is accountable on a very small scale and hardly by public. This is because when Military is called in when law and order has failed. So Military is given certain orders and they will rout anything that stands in their way.

Therefore, the psyche of a policeman and soldier is very different.
Consider this, if a "jaguar" cop comes in full gear at your door step and wants to enter the house, the first thing that a knowledgeable person will ask is to be shown a warrant as a permissible right to enter a persons home, unless there is a special law that by-passes or renders useless the usual law of warrant, is there any?
If a Military soldier comes to your door step and some sort of curfew or military law or martial law is in place, the doors will need to be opened.

For most of you who curse Punjab police and praise KPK police, you must have your reasons, but bear in mind that there are loop holes in law system that are exploited by Police and that even be exploited by a public client's lawyer. If someone knows the law, then that single person can become a headache for police itself. The problem in Pakistan is that police, lawyers and judges know the law. Public doesnt have trust in law and it doesnt want to know law. This is why Public takes law in its own hands and when you do that and even when you are innocent but one wrong move can get the case null and void against your opponent and maybe instead of him, you land in jail.

A simple example.: a thief comes in your home, you catch him and then u hit him and tie him up. You both are in trouble, according to law, you cannot hit and restrain a person. All what you needed to do was to call the cops and stay safe. if the thief has a good lawyer, he will put you in trouble as well. What will happen next?
Now that you also seem to be in trouble therefore the theif's lawyer proposes a truce, you cancel the charges against him for theft, he cancels charges against you for physical assault and restraining. Our public has a mentality, " we are shareef people, we dont go to police stations and courts". Following this mentality, you drop all charges and thief is free to go.

Law is there for everyone but its how you manage to take advantage of it. A bitter truth.

Coming to the video, this training video shows Anti-Terror training, much like SWAT. Such videos look good for morale boosting and blood pumping with all hi tech weapons and tactics but practically it has to be seen if this force serves public or VIP's interests, if this force provides security to public or VIP's, if it operates only on "shoot to kill" orders or is accountable like rest of police.

I wrote about behavior and corruption only. KPK police was least corrupt compared to police in other provinces, even before PTI govt but it was not totally corruption free and is still not corruption free. In most recent case they got opportunity to earn money when they started arresting refugees like sheep herds and those who could pay bribes were set free.

Second is behavior, KPK police was better in that even before PTI. I don't see any further work done in area of more better public relation/dealing.

No doubt, PTI govt has worked on physical training of police. That was of course must thing. KPK is and was main target of terrorist. I never mentioned that because major problem in Pakistan as whole is police behavior towards public and corruption. Police is not just about physical training. I am sure, there is still a lot of difference when a common man registers a complain in Canada and KPK. Which has to be still worked upon.

In rest of Pakistan, I am sorry I even can't call this department as police. They are pure terrorists, corrupt up to their necks and worse than mad dogs in their behavior. In their thana culture, a poor man, to his best avoids contact with police but when he has to go to police, they even don't talk to him, they bark at him like mad dogs. Of course with few exceptions, which can't be generalize.
