The only person that tells more lies than a politician is a statistician, you can divide the money by all sorts of methods to come up with a list that puts one country or another on top.

Simple thing is both countries are generous with aid who gave a little more than the other one year is irrelevent.

What is so hard to understand here. Its a UN report specifying who made what contributions as a percentage of GDP. Not absolute dollar contribution.

By absolute amount US is certainly the largest contributor, there is no doubt about that. But percentage of GDP is a better gauge of how much a contry is contributing based on its capacity. So KSA being at the top here is something positive.

Just FYI, the US has a 14 Trillion Dollar economy compared to Saudi's 1/2 Trillion dollar economy.

That is nice...But standalone it is misleading. Say -- I make $100k/yr and give %20 to charity which is $20k, correct? My next door neighbor Joe Schmoe make $1mil/yr but give only %10 to charity, which is $100k, correct? So who give more to charity?

The millionaire has given more, but you would be more charitable. You have given more out of what is available to you.

If we take this to the Nth degree - why not compare a billionaire who gives 0.001% of his income away to charity with a poor Bangladeshi family who invite a wayfarer into their home and feed him, despite not having enough for themselves.

That's what the topic is about, and it's only misleading if you wish to make an issue out of every little F*****g thing ----> Drama Queen.

Anyway - 0.19% or whatever is still dreadfully low.
