The helmet features an integrated mount for night vision goggles, as well as built-in retention lanyards for any night-vision devices. More significantly, along the rim of each side of the helmet is a mounting rail for accessories. The operator can mount task lights, hearing protection, communication accessories, face protection, oxygen systems or even video cameras. The helmet also comes with pre-applied Velcro, which is quite popular for mounting callsigns and infrared identifiers.

The helmet has been developed by a Ukrainian company called UaRms, it offers up to V50 688m/s fragmentation protection, and weighs around 3.5 lbs.

They are Ops-Core spec op type helmet. Favourite by most SOF in the world and was fully integrated into Norwegian Armed Force as standard issue.

These helmet, depend on makes (688m/s would mean they are slightly lower than Level III protection) it can offer anywhere from Level II, Level IIIA or Level III protection, which mean they are protected up to 5.56 rounds or 9mm close range.

These helmet differ from normal combat helmet (like MICH or Mk 7) is the lack of material, which mean your neck can turn in full 180 degree without hindering, also with 3 point NVG Wilcox mount, you no longer need to put the j-mount up manually.

Another advantage is the railing offer flashlight, camera, strobe add on, you can put one to two accessories on each side and it will not obstruct the user field of view.

Ops-Core FAST helmet type also offer ear-muff well that you can wear your com gear without having to tuck inside the helmet, which mean more comfort when wearing COM gear.

A common misconception is that OPS-CORE FAST helmet are light weight, in fact, for the same size, they are heavier than MICH equivalent helmet (for example a S/M MICH weighted just 3 lbs, but a FAST helmet weighted 3.6 lbs with the same size.) Although special version of FAST is generally lighter than a MICH or basic combat helmet.

USSOCOM uses a variant of MICH helmet called MICH-2001 which share the basic design with Ops-Core FAST helmet. US Air Force on the other hand, uses a variant called MICH-2002 Gunfighter helmet for their special force.
