She was advised to approach the Branch again after a week after this application and take with her to UBL Nazimabad a Branch Officer who would in the new Branch complete required formalities and introduce her as the locker holder. The Nazimabad Branch would then complete its own internal formalities after which only the locker could be operated. She had since traveled only for the specific job, she travelled back next day empty handed.
3. Till “jamhuriaat ka hussen” and good governance had not started. My late parents had a locker with NBP Gulberg Branch. The lockers were shifted to Sakhi Hassan Branch. Un-privatized NBP in writing informed my parents about this shifting. My late parents simply approached the new Sakhi Hassan Branch when the “local” Manager on the basis of CNIC completed formalities in 5 minutes internally and locker was operated.
4. Nazimabad is a big area. It must have 8-10 UBL Branches. Where has our locker gone? It is now more than 6 months till this date we don’t know. If UBL shifted the locker, do we need to “apply” for any NOC or permission to use it in the new place? Should this shifting information not had been conveyed to us automatically by the “efficient” foreign investor or we ought to struggle for it?. In our police stations, a citizen is required to arrange “taxi and return” if police is required to visit a crime scene. Does now UBL needs my wife to take an officer with her to the new Branch?
