Mercenaries are professional soldiers hired purely for money. Would those Afghan/Iraqi soldiers be willing to fight for anyone in any country? A mercenary has no motivation in the conflict aside from financial gain for his role. He does not care which side he fights for. It is like being hired to be a plumber or an accountant. It's a private business venture.
